SLMfantracker84 you need to get your facts straight before you post. Sam Watts won is first superlate race a couple of years ago in his second start in one with a steel head motor at OSW and then went back to running limiteds. Then they built a super for last year and when the motor needed to be bought the got a spec and 16k and winning every race what would you do? In a side note I agree that the spec motor is out of control.

Called and ask son about rules at Mansfield. Couldn't remember numbers, but a real hard 10inch Goodyear tire, and mostly even field with weight rules. True crate motors could run 2700# and a four barrel carb, Pennsylvania spec. motor 2800# and a four barrel carb, built motors steel head 2900# and 2 barrel, built motor aluminum head 2950# and a 2 barrel. Template body, 105 min. wheel base, no traction control, those hard tires and pretty much run what you brung. I don't want anyone to get mad or upset, but this package made for a lot of great racing, and out of those 26 or 30 cars that showed up every week, in my opinion about 18 or 20 of them ever week was capable of winning the feature. Oh ya after qualifing the fast guy pulled a invert pill from a hat, 6, 8. 10,12 cars, sure is fun watching the fast guys starting 10th or 12th. Son did it a lot in 2006, and they where 30 lap features. Chris dropped weekly shows in 2007, he said Mansfield speedway was just to big to operate every week, now just does 6 or 8 special races a year, ASA, Hooters, Nascar trucks and a few other major series. Sure wish some Fla. promotors would call Chris and ask him all the details..........Rick

See what I mean, you try to make a point on how to help with the racing and car counts here in Fla. and you have the guy that thinks he knows everything post that because it worked up north it is wrong. Sorry you think that way, was just trying to make a point to help car counts here in Fla. Rick

Dont let them get to you. Ive tried to make rule suggestions about the ministock division to make it more affordable and got the same thing. If they want to race 10,000 four cylinder engines let them. Guess they know why only 8 cars showed up to the first FMSC race.Originally posted by chassisdude View PostSee what I mean, you try to make a point on how to help with the racing and car counts here in Fla. and you have the guy that thinks he knows everything post that because it worked up north it is wrong. I wasn't disagee with you Rick. I mean this area is losing fast on late models. Everyone here thinks they know. (promoter wise) But there is now car count. SGMP had 14 this weekend and thought they had a good count. Basic, simple and less cost. Drivers can race for 800 to win when they don't have to spend a ton at the track.

The new S.E.A.L. motor program
I was just reading about the new SEAL motor program on Speed51. Sounds good to hear someone/promotors and tracks are doing something about the motor issues. Now I'm just wondering if FASCAR has the YOU KNOW WHAT to join. Probably not, because the stuffing of pockets would cease from the motor builders to the promotors,or should I say promotor!! As Forrest Gump would say. Have a nice day.
Can't wait to hear about this one.

I have made several phone calls and to my knowledge nobody in Florida has been invited to join. Nobody even knew this alliance was being formed. Do you have any information as to who in Florida they have contacted or invited?
The "Florida" spec engine has proven itself on the track, on the dyno and in racers wallets as the leader in performance and reliability.
Florida Super Late Model Drivers and Fans......If you feel alone it's not because your being left out. It's because your in the lead.Last edited by Tim; 04-26-2008, 11:35 AM.You can educate the ignorant......but you cant fix stupid

Deleted post by me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I deleted my previous post because Mr. Nerone let me know he was disappointed. I'll leave it at that...unless further and deeper action is warranted. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
Although he called in "AFTER" the show R.J.Scott did not participate. In later weeks several other people including Don Nerone and Dennis Nixon of South Georgia Motorsports Park had their say on the situation.
All of a sudden we have this big article on Speed 51 about this S.E.A.L. motor program. Coincidence? Maybe but Scott's name is mentioned no less then 4 times in the article with no one except Tim Bryant being mentioned on the Florida side. Why? Not sure, we are not taking sides but just want to get the whole story from all sides out there and hopefully, on our show in two weeks, we can get R.J. Scott to comment on the air.Last edited by RRUSANews; 04-29-2008, 12:58 AM.

This is funny. I have kept my mouth shut for some time on this. I have sat here and watched everyone say what they think. When I was at Mansfield Speedway in Ohio we had the highest car count in the nation in Late Models. You don't need a spec motor. You need a combo of motors. Allow the built and crate. If you do this right it will and can work. Dennis Nixion speaking on this? Come on. Well wait, he was going to take SGMP to high places. He shouldn't speak on this. He doesn't have a clue on how the crate motor works. Chasis dude has a son the raced at Mansfield when I was running it. So if you doubt what I say ask him. SGMP had 11 or 12 late models show up Sat. Not sure what the other tracks where. Late model racing should not be rocket science. Run 50 to 100 lap features. (GREEN FLAG ONLY) Who cares if you are paying 2,500 to win if your only paying 100 to start. Start money is where you should load up. You will always have 5 guys running for top. Other guys use bottom money to get there.
The last thing I will say on this post. You are listening to some people have no clue about this. I know I went on a rant. But, to have 1 or 2 engine builders for this spec motor is crazy. If done right in the south you could have 24 to 40 cars showing up and racing again. But as long as you got guys like named above thinking they know and don't, your in deep trouble.
