For some reason, I keep thinking Tom Helfrich, even tho all the signs lead me away from that guess. Tom spent most of his time on dirt, but these cars have asphalt McCrearys on it. I see the blue car behind him that has "Tri-City Buggy" on it, which was a famous chassis builder... mainly of dirt cars. Tom is from Indiana, while I think Tri City was from either Georgia or SC.

In other words.... I'm stumped.

Don't know about the pic but......

Tri City Buggy was owned by Gary Oliver and I believe they only sold the Howe "dirt" chassis kits. They may have done some building and fabrication but I think the main deal was the parts and the kits. They also sold the Towel City Retread racing tires. He had a daughter named Chrissy who was fairly successful in the Late Models driving a house car from TCB.

Not Bobby Isaac; Isaac never drove a Ford, especially on the short tracks.

Certainly not Red Farmer; yes, Red was a Ford guy, but his Mustangs were white and gold with the red "F97" on it.
