    • In regards to Bobby Isaac never driving a Ford... He did... He was driving for Bud Moore in 1973 when he suddenly quit in the middle of the Talladega 500 because a "voice" told him to... I was at that race...

      • I also believe he drove a Ford, #27 for Banjo Matthews.

Dave.... being at that particular race is a cool part of history. Bobby was a very unique person, and one of my all time favorites.

        • Another neat thing about being at that race was that it was Dick Brooks' only win in Cup racing and that J. D. McDuffie led quite a few laps... the only bad thing was Larry Smith getting killed early in the race...

              • Gotta be the late Benny Parsons. Ran into him at breakfast a couple of times when I lived in NC and had a great and lengthy conversation w/him - one hell of a nice guy!

                • My guess for the #72 car is Joe Milikan

                  • Palmbayer is correct... Parsons had a lot of success driving the #72 for L. G. DeWitt and even won the Cup in '73, but Millikan (in the photo) was Dewitt's last driver... Ran 31 races in 1979 and 1980... DeWitt's first driver was Big John Sears and Sprint Car star Jan Opperman made his only NASCAR start in one of DeWitt's cars finishing 8th at Pocono in 1974...

                      • Anyone know??

The significance of this acr. Actually this is a 1:25 scale model, obviously not the real car! Who built it, who was the best know driver? Hope the pic comes out.

Eddie Flemke and I always liked his quote "you can't eat trophies"

                            • Built by my friend Bobby Judkins. The first Northern Mod built with a pinto body. He also built one with a maverick body, not sure if it was the first one or not. His cars were also driven by All 3 Bodine Brothers, Gene Bergeren (SP) Buggsy Stephens and who knows who else/ Bobby is in the Northern Hall of Fame. Bobby also had Fl mods at OSW and NSS for several yrs, driven by several drivers. Jason Boyd, Jimmy Winks to name a few. Quit the FL mods and now has a Northern Mod he leaves in COnn. (I believe) His grandson drives it up there and a couple races in NSS during speed weeks. There, now i made a racing related post o'k? And I want to wish all you useless left handed lug nut my congratulations. This is my last post on KARNAC, I have told admin, whoever that is that I'm tired of its double standards!! You luggies have ruined 2 other forums and it wont be long before this one is ruined. BYE!!! oh, p.s. the 2x is the car that got screwed on OSW 3-4 yrs ago that BOney called me a liar about. Bet you don't dare leave this up for a day Rick!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA

                              • That car is a 1/25 scale model of Eddie Flemkes 1937 CHEVROLET Coupe. He could have possibly been the best modified driver on the east coast. He also was the first racecar builder to use a certain type of front suspension.

Anybody know what front suspension he was the first to use ?
