OK, back on track with the trivia :-) (great pics, BTW...)
OK...this one may be kinda easy...gotta think of some harder stuff...LOL...
(No fair Dave...you can't answer...LOL....)
In 1962, NASCAR held a Grand National race at a Florida race track, and it included a local legend. In 1963, that race was replaced with what event?

The local legend was Buzzie Reutimann, the race was at Golden Gate, Im not clear on what it was replaced with.Originally posted by Jimmy McKinley View PostOK, back on track with the trivia :-) (great pics, BTW...)

Oh, OK...lookin' at the 22 again, it's Big Bill France.
The black and gold #0 is Chargin' Charlie Glotzbach at Golden Gate in '77 - my dad took that pic ;-) We were about three pits to the right. That's my pic, by the way...LOL...
Oh - and Gary was *real close*. When NASCAR decided they didn't want to return to Tampa, Frank Dery <?>....(damn, I can't remember the name now :-( ) wanted a big stock car race to replace the Grand Nationals in November. So the following year, he decided to hold the very first Florida State Stock Car Championship for Late Model Automobiles. Dave McInnis would win the first Florida 200. The Florida Governor's Cup wouldn't arrive until the following year (1964), won by Freddy Fryar. So, in short, the Governor's Cup is not the name of the race; it's the name of the trophy awarded to the Florida State champion :-)
