Yep, wish I'd have made a few different choices when I was younger. I spent, wasted, whatever you care to all it all of my blood, sweat, and tears trying to make a living driving race cars. Believe me, I put in my share of mega hour marathons, in my younger years I worked 50 or 60 hours a week then went home and put in another 40 or so wrestling with old worn out cast off stuff that noboby else wanted and tried to win races with it. Had to learn to do everything myself cause I sure never had the money to pay anybody to do it. It's not that I don't respect your point of view, hell in a lot of ways I ENVY the route you chose. It sucks to beat your brains out in a system that seems to be designed to beat you down at every turn and I totally feel your frustration. At least you've got something to SHOW for all the struggling that you've done. But the battle never ends for anybody. It's all relative but life's ALWAYS a struggle and at the end of the day it's your philosphy that controls how you FEEL about it. Man, we're on the same side, believe it or not! I'm pulling for you and I hope it comes around for you. I just wish to hell I had more to GIVE but since I blew my youth when I had the piss and vinegar to be productive it's all I can do today to try to keep the wolves away a week at a time. So now pretty much all I have to offer is the benefits of my journey down the road of hard knocks.

Real is my wife working 10 hours the day before my wifes scheduled delivery of our first baby. and "it" is taxes you asshole. Yes I am sure your family has several stories similar to mine, did they get punished by tax hikes for their hard work. If you really knew how much a small business has to pay in taxes you would shut your f...ing mouth. You just live your life in your own little sheltered world and I will live mine and pray to God that our paths don't cross.

The proposed tax hikes punish those who have made some smart decisions and worked extra hard to better their position in life.

I didn't blow my youth yet. I am doing everything that I can so I won't be in the position that your in when I am your age. I want my daughter to have the option to go to college. I didn't have that option, it was the service or a dead end job. My grandfather is the same way, near 70 and working 40-50 hours a week. I believe in paying the piper and I certainly don't want anything for free but I don't want to be ass raped by the government any more then what they already have.

I feel for you and the position that you are in, I really do. I have helped several families in your same position out several times on my own free will. I shouldn't be forced to do it.

That is the real hard facts. I get anti Obama stuff from my white friends on a daily basis. Bottom line I guess, we're stuck in this system whether we like it or not so we just have to learn how to work it the best we can. We generate revenue and we don't have a heck of a lot to say where it goes or how it's distributed. The system cannot function without revenue, the question is how the load is distributed. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that those at the bottom of the ladder sure as heck don't have it to give. In fact, they need subsidies to survive. Those in the middle are bearing too much of the load already. If they're taxed out of existence, THEN what? No jobs, no tax money to spend and you're adding even MORE to the bottom of the pile. Now, is there any reasoning person out there who beleives that there are not one HECK of a lot of people at the TOP of the pile who have WAY more than they need to lead an even MORE than comfortable lifetyle? That's where this idea of wealth redistribution comes from. The big rub is WHERE does the line get drawn? And it's a long ways from simple. Think you're gonna solve all the problems by taking all of those obscene luxuries away from the rich? Sounds like a good target, right? What about all of the companies with all of those families on their payrolls who make THEIR living servicing the luxury yachts and business jets and all of those perks we get to see on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? And healthcare! What about all the graft and corpulant waste of all of those parasite getting rich off of peoples misery and sickeness? Yeah, but wait a minute....THEY'VE all got families TOO and the paychecks that they get keep their communities functioning and.......... Get the picture? So maybe the politicians job AIN'T as easy as we thought it was! So, what DO we do? Say, To hell with it all, I'm just gonna grab as much as I can for me and mine and let the chips fall where they may?
This much I do know. There are plenty of systems out there. Some work better, some are worse, but NO system is EVER gonna force the people to do what they don't WANT to do. Back them into a corner and make them believe that the system is out to screw them and they will fight you to the death. You, me, the russians, the chinese, the iragi's, whoever! It's a no win situation and so it shall ALWAYS be! IF the people believe that we are ALL sharing one big community and we're here to look out for one another.......Well hell, you wouldn't even NEED a system, would you? Impossible utopian dream of some useless crackpot? Some, perhaps many will believe that. But this I also know. Give in to the powers of the self and eventually ANY system will collapse into chaos and anarchy and the human race will die out. You gotta have FAITH in something. Put your faith into the power that's KEPT us alive all of these millenia and improved our standard of living and our ability to make things better for the generations to come. Me, I've never really been a religious person. Too many contradictions and questions for me. But I'm thinking that maybe I oughta be. Cause you GOT to put your faith in something bigger than you, that much I'm sure of.

Just now heard on the news. Rep. Waxsman, one of the people in charge of putting this great health plan together says that members of congress will not be require to use the new health plan. They can keep the one they have now. Excuse me, like if you work at ????????????(some eating place) and say, I cook the food and I won't eat there. So, you people that are for this great health plan wouldn't you want the same one that your employees have, yes your employees the people that you people voted for, don't they work for you and if you pay taxes are not you paying them to do all this great stuff for you. 2nd, was talking to a friend that owes a eating place, well they serve more beer than food, anyhow, he was telling me of all the people that he knows that are out of work and his business has dropped off about one third. We started to joke about wouldn't it be something if the government started to tax you what you sure be making. Why would that not suprise anyone, like they made say to tedrichard, Sir, we feel that you are able to make $15,000.00 more so here is your tax bill, thank you very much.

I've never met Edm or Todd , wouldn't know them if i was standing next to them . But thanks to these dumb political threads you keep posting , they are both ready to hunt me down . And all because you are paranoid over a health bill that doesn't even exist and a President you don't like . Not to mention scared to death over make believe impending taxes for that same health bill that doesn't exist .
By the way , Congressman Waxman doesn't have the authority to tell anyone what insurance they can or can't have . The system is way more complicated than , it requires votes and things . If you don't know that , then please take some time to read up on it instead of watching Glenn Beck shows . His show isn't meant to be taken seriously Darren . Its an entertainment program .
