What does this do for racers? Will you have to wait for days to get medical care after getting hurt in a race? Would the racers or tracks have to have special waivers to hold racers or complete in them? Would the said tracks or racers have to pay a tax to have medical care? Is this something to be concern about?

It will probably help the ones that can't afford insurance now. What does this do for racers?
No, unless you choose to.Will you have to wait for days to get medical care after getting hurt in a race?
There's no telling what may be required in the future, regardless of the health plan.Would the racers or tracks have to have special waivers to hold racers or complete in them?
To be determined.Would the said tracks or racers have to pay a tax to have medical care?
Health care is something to be concerned about now. Particularly for those that can't afford insurance, don't have an employee insurance plan, or can't afford health care. Health care in the US in among the lowest rated in the world now, for developed countries. Is this something to be concern about? My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

Everyone needs to be careful about feeling warm and fuzzy about BO's health care plan. He plans on the rich being taxed to pay for it............unless it has changed overnight what BO considered the (rich) is an annual salary starting @ $36,000 per year.
Hospitals and DR's charge insurance companies more to make up for the uninsured.Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

Winger - NOT well said but agrees with the popular trash in American media.
Every American can afford health care, they just choose not to.
Of the three million or so who are not covered by any plan (yes 3 million, not 47 as the media says) all own TVs, cable, and cell phones.
It's priorities.

Darren , i take it you're not too thrilled with the President on any issue . Regarding the health care bill ..... what health care bill ? There isn't one yet . There won't be a completed one for months . Right now theres only health care ideas , and lots of them .
Tax the rich ? Sounds good to me , the rich can afford more taxes . And by rich , i'm talking about $250,000 and above . Guarenteed health care for all ? The US is literally the only industrialized country in the world that doesn't offer health care to ALL of its citizens . Maybe thats a good thing , maybe not . I'd have to say that if ALL of those other countries are doing it and we're the only ones that aren't , then maybe we need to take a closer look to see if we're missing something .
I don't imagine that anyone , not anyone thats sane , would say that the US health care system should stay just the way it is . Even the people who dearly love the system we have now constantly bitch about the costs . So i think we're all agreed that changes need to be made . We elect people to make these changes for us , so lets give them our ideas , our input , and sit back and see what they come up with . But that isn't going to happen for another couple of months at the earliest . So let it go and enjoy your summer . And remember WWOD . What Would Orlando Do .

The reason our country isn't like the others are because we have the best system in the world now. Why go to something that is less? Yes there are a few things that need redoing. But the over all system is fine. The thing to do first to get cost down is put a cap on what the lawers can sue for.

i dont mean to be disrespectful but i disagree... health insurance costs an average family over $300 a month... (most are much higher)...usually comes to about $100 a week... so if you make $10 an hour which to me is almost poverty level in todays cost of living, thats $2.50 less an hour in your paycheck... so you are making $7.50 an hour now... thats $300 a week... can the average person with children live on that?
then we could get into a discussion about PRE-EXISTING conditions... NOT!

Carol, I agree with you 100%. I just sent John a PM with an actual situation describing this.
Rick, we don't have the best health care system in the world now. We have one of the worse among developed countries. That is unacceptable and maybe unbelievable but true. I believe that lawyers may be partially responsible for this but would putting a cap on settlements help? Maybe, but it's not the total solution.
Benny is correct that hospitals and doctors charge more to help pay for uninsured. Wouldn't it be great if there were no more uninsured because we all had health care?My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

Hey, just give us the same coverage the polititions and the President have.
Let them start paying into Social Security too. They make all the laws and rates and yet are exempt from them. That's just the wrong way to do things.
I want the same retirement plan they have too. After only one term, they still draw 100% of their pay for LIFE. Plus that special medical plan.
And we pay for all of it through taxes.....
----JIM----RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

How much do cell phones, Big screen TVs, cable, dish, road runner, high speed internet cost? Are these more vital than healthcare?
I had a guy tell me $289 a month was too much for his family of four, and then showed me all the cool applications he had on his iPhone - including one that makes it look like he is drinking a beer when he holds it up. Cost him $25 to download it.
He also had over 250 downloaded songs on the phone which he said he got "cheap."
It's all about choices.
Healthcare is a privilege, not a right.
I don't want the privilege of paying for YOUR healthcare while you waste your money on junk.
I don't want to live in Russia thank you.

I have no doubt whatsoever that there are people out there who make dumb decisions . I know quite a few of them . I haven't always done the smartest things myself . But for every example like the person you described there is another person trying to make it and finding out that insurance is out of the question . Heres some info from someone i know , and i know these numbers are legit .
He and his wife together TAKE HOME approx. $633 per week . They have three children
Here are their bills , monthly bills broken down into weekly amounts .
Rent $200 / $800 month
Electric $ 39 / $156 month
Utilities $22 / $88 month
Car payment $ 62.50 / $250 month
Car insurance $ 30 / $ 120 month
Gas $ 30 / $ 120 month
Groceries $90 / $ 360 month
and of course school clothes , school supplies , clothes for the parents , etc also come out of that total .
Not only is there no possible way they can afford any type of health insurance ( Employer provided or otherwise ) they have virtually no money left for anything each month .
Now they do work any extra hours that come their way , but extra hours are not coming around very often these days . In fact hours are being cut . They also work extra jobs when they can , but that obviously isn't going to make a giant dent in the problem . So if we don't supply them with some form of health care they go without, which they do .

illegals etc...
i do agree that some people dont know how to set priorities... i personally get po'd when people cry that they are worried about losing their house and they smoke 2 packs a day... $12 a day is $360 a month... thats an insurance coverage....
as for illegals... i thought they were NOT allowed any American "rights".. most scurry when anyone comes around because they dont want to get caught here illegally & face deportation... as for the ones who are legal... they have done what every American did to stay here and they have earned the rights. all of our families came here from another country...after working hard to become citizens, they are entitled to all of American benefits...
We had some Mexican guys working for us... they had all the paperwork but when we found out it was all illegal paperwork, we had to get rid of them. it was our loss because they showed up every day on time and worked harder than anyone else... they paid taxes and paid "someones" Social Security! so i really dont understand what some of you are talking about...an illegal cant get benefits... or am i not educated about this. please be polite because i am!

Ok let's take this one. I have just 3 questions for you ---Originally posted by AJ14 View PostI have no doubt whatsoever that there are people out there who make dumb decisions . 1: HOW did they get there? and
2: HOW is it my fault?
3: WHY do I have to pay for it?
If you want to help them why aren't you giving them money? Why aren't they going to their church and asking for help? My church has funds for people who are temporarily behind the 8-ball.
What are they doing to change the situation?
I know one thing - it could be me who is in that situation some day, very easily. But am I going to whine that it's the "government's responsibility" to take care of me? That I am "entitled" to free healthcare?
I sure hope not.
I think Jesus said it best (and I paraphrase) - give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for life.
