Now I might explain I don't have a dog in the race so I can speak what I think now. for 30 years I could not .
Every time some one post a story about this rule or tire will fix everything there are people a tracks with little experance start changing rules. When rules are changed it only cost the racer money.
If the tire rule changes the tire dealer makes more money every time.
All the cars will have to buy a set. Also if the track is the only one to change the tire dealer has the only tires that you can run.
I know that some of the tracks in the north use them. We didn't test that # but I have tested that compound at NSS and it was bad. The tire got so hot from spinning it was comming apart in 8 laps
That test was 6 years ago and the track was green so maybe the test might be different.
This will im sure create a tire change and I hope no one gets hert before they get threw the learning curve.don62
Testing will be done right. It will be conducted with Hoosier overseeing it I'm told. Patrick Thomas (not me) will be the driver. We would LIKE the Hoosier 800 to be the answer, but we will be testing objectively. If it's NOT the answer, it would be worse to change to the wrong tire than to keep what we have now. Safety is of the utmost importance. Read the thread Don. There's a lot of info there. I really don't think you've tested this compound before. You have to agree. Expecting support classes to have to buy tires every week is not good for car counts or is sustainable over the long haul.

Patrick Thomas is a good idea. Who has enough experance to test tires if its not someone from one of the tire people ?
I agree that the longer the tire last the better it is for the drivers.

good luck hope it works out for them
