The only thing Don got right is his own title: Director of Bullsh17

I volunteer for TBARA, and have been privileged to meet with Ozzy Moya a few times, and have had the opportunity to hear his vision for the track. I really like what he has laid out for the future.

To be clear, I am not an employee of the track. I'm just an interested competitor who volunteers for a series, and who would help Speedworld if they ever needed me.

I know you don't work for the track, just figured since you have heard the big master plan that you might be able to shed some light on it for me since the new phantom GM hasn't revealed himself yet.

Well... what they really need is somebody with a big wad of cash to come in and build a dome over the place OR run races from January - mid-June, then finish up the season mid-September through mid-November... Rainouts are very common at OSW now, so it's time to adjust the schedule accordingly...

If I was in charge (I'm not, nor would I take the job) here is what I would run:

Alternate Late Models and Modifieds - note I'm not talking full Mods, E-Mods, SLM or Pro LM - Just LM and Mods... run whatcha brung, just like the old days... adjust the rules to make the E-Mod type and Pro LM type cars competitive... OSW is not a horsepower track, handling is the key there anyway...

Two classes of easy-to-build low cost Bomber cars, one for six-cylinder and one for four cylinder - FWD ONLY!

Continue to run Super Stocks while they last... This class has seen its better days because affordable RWD cars/chassis/engines/parts are getting harder to find and when you do it's not cost effective at all... Come up with a new Super Stock class within two years using six-cylinder FWD cars that are made into real race cars... Several tracks up north are doing this and getting big fields...

Try to run Legends but only if they support the show... These cars put on great races but have not been supportive of the track since Russ Thomson quit as the man in charge... In June there were 11 Legends in the pits when it rained and this past Saturday NONE showed up... They all had arm bands that were good to get in but decided not to race... The excuse I got was that Desoto scheduled them on the same night, but, only 8 cars showed up at Desoto and only one of them could be considered a SpeedWorld regular...
Bandoleros are OK (run during intermission) but again, they have not been supporting OSW...

Forget Mini Stocks, Trucks and Sportsman... not enough of these show up despite all their grumbling and the cost of running these classes has gotten way out of hand...

The goal would be to take what I've just mentioned and build a SHOW out of it... 15-25 car fields rather than 3-7... Then you can start trying to attract a crowd... If someone comes to the track for the first time and feels he/she got their money's worth, they'll be back and bring others too...

Again, run a four division program max each night with lots of cars in each class... Have a few special Saturday night events with the Sprint Cars...

I think it can be done, but it WILL take some WORK...

Boneman's new title - Florida's Political Asphalt Circle Track Advisor (FPACTA)

He don't know anything more than anyone else that has talked to Ozzy. They learned a lot last year and will try harder this year. That's it. If he did know more you can bet he would be spilling the beans all over KARNAC. So y'all quit trying to get a politician to talk.

            With all due respect FPACTA,

Alas EZ, that is not the case. The reason everyone tells me stuff is because I keep my mouth shut. I only let out what is ok to let out.

Ok Dave you can keep your front wheel drive junk cars. they are harder to work on and if that was the only bomber class I would leave when they came out who here likes slamming the gas on and gets a thrill out of front wheels spining sorry Not me I belive real racecars are rear wheel drive. Boneman ozzy said he was going to do alot of things in his first meeting of the year with osw guess what. nothing happen expect osw sinking lower then it has ever been. I bet you we will have these same problems come next year. the faces change but the game remains same. Do they even have a tech guy at this track geess I could tech some cars sitting in the stands.

                    ...
Total BS....The Florida dirt tracks run the thunder stock class which is basicly the same as the super stocks other than carb/headers.These tracks are seeing 15-24 car features weekly and the car counts actually increased all year.
The big difference is that unlike the asphalt tracks, the dirt tracks promote this class, pay decent purses, and treat the entry level drivers the same as they treat a late model driver.

Craigs list is full of rear wheel drive cars and there is plenty of aftermarket parts. Nothing souds worse then a 4 cylinder POS.

FWD cars are fine for entry level classes. I've driven several, and know that they are not so different from RWD. The racing is still plenty of
                            fun.
