They not only cleaned up after Crasharama, but they also pressure washed the track using an estimated 20,000 gallons of water. It looked great! How clean was it? The sprinters usually have to scrub the tires before restarts, but we didn't even bother because there was nothing to build up on the tires.

To all of you who worried about the wrist bands from the rainout. Yes, the track honored them like they always said they would. Sorry it took 6 months to reschedule the event, but it was clearly a turbulent year at Speedworld that ended on a good note.

I've heard a lot of the plans for 2014, they are bold and make good business sense, so I am really looking forward to it. Changes are coming and it will be for the better. Stay tuned and bookmark their new site http://www.raceosw.com/

I know many of you have complaints about the way things went this year. I bet some of them are perfectly valid too. I hope they will be learning experiences for the new management, and that the competitors and fans can put them aside and focus on the future. Will you be part of the rebuilding process, or part of the problems from the past?

I've always said that Speedworld is the best racing surface in Florida, and after last night I am more convinced than ever. It is a great track for sprints and it looks like we will be there in force in 2014!

Putting all the Mod's together on 10 inch tires is not the answer. First off all the Mod's have 8" wheels. That means buying more wheels, more money. Second, it will be harder on the engines and drive line (rotating inertia and additional weight, will have to run lower gear), not to mention they are heavier and that will be harder on wheel bearings/studs too(remember mod's have to run stock type spindles/small bearings). Some mod's still run stock type axles with stock studs. Putting more stress on the rear axles too. The Crate engines will especially suffer in the power dept. With this also you will see more wheel to wheel contact I believe resulting in more tore-up equipment. Everyone will need to build new nerf bars because the wheels/tires will stick out farther. Someone said the times between the 2 classes with big tires and wheels were not that far off(apparently someone has been testing and bending Ozzy's ear). Maybe. Is that comparing the 2 different cars/classes on single car runs on the track where their is no traffic to pass and can keep it wound up, or was that with other cars on the track? Set-up's will be way different, let alone between tracks (Orl&NSS). All this results in the racer spending a lot more money(springs/shock packages, sway bars). I don't know about others, but I go to the track to WIN! Not ride around. I was at one time for the big wheels/tires, but after a couple tests we did at NSS, I wasn't sold on the idea. Right off the get-go had to change the gear from a 5:64 to a 5:99. Again I'll probably get criticized for this. Oh well.

Really people???? I thought the improvements were awesome. Clean stands and concession area, painted walk way coming in so no one falls.. Leaky roof in the breezeway fixed, door replaced.... Womens bathroom was clean... Bleachers were clean.. Didn't need my towel to sit on. Grass mowed, buildings painted... Potted plants no mosquito's..

As a fan... I will come back in 2014.. And I will bring a friend or two as I am not embarrassed to refer a friend anymore. I hear the bleachers will be painted. I hope the drivers come back too..

There is a word for this: "WYFIWYLF". It is the acronym for "what you find is what you're looking for.

Anyone of us can visit a track, any track at all, and write up a list of things that need to be done. Any of us can do it, and I probably have done so in this site at some time or another. Maybe they are even helpful sometimes, but to complain about that list while over-looking real progress in other areas is not a fair approach.

it'll be a great year! big things coming. sprint cars and crash a rama will be back. stay tuned to the website " see a problem here?
No Scott, I do not see a problem. Don't you realize they are in the middle of a management change? There is a new manager on the job and these details are just not ironed out yet. Yes, it would be great if everything was settled and published, but it is not. I would rather have management working to make rapid changes than to be settled on the same old thing that wasn't working.

                    gm change

my main complaint from day 1 has been communication. still is. obviously Boneman you are in the very few that are being told anything. it's pretty clear you have more knowledge on OSW's intentions than most. so that being said....... who is the new GM? and have you heard anything on if SLM's will be run on a regular in 14? I don't think I'm asking for much. I don't care if a bomb hit osw (pretty much did in nov.) communication is not that difficult.

                      mods

Ok I see threre is talk about mods on 10 inch tires,
lets all think back to when the mods were on 8 inch good year-
At osw mods ran high 13's-14 sec
                      Nss mods ran low 18's
Now the last race at Nss they ran 10 inch they were AGAIN in the low 18 sec
Osw from tire test they were high 13's-14 sec
SO if it was ok to run those speeds before on stock bearings, brakes, spindle.... what is the problem now?
Also sportsman ran 10 inch for years and they are a 800lbs heavier
not to mention you could buy tires from late model guys because most dont run them more than 1 race
tires would last longer, so the added exspense of buying rims would offset your tire bill if you didnt have too put tires on every week to run up front
I mite be wrong but it is my opinion and hope this doesnt become a typical message board bashing because i have an opinion and trying to bring up a few points about it

I agree from a fans perspective the minor changes do matter, but lets be realistic. the grass being mowed, and the bathrooms cleaned is because of crasharama. were these changes made before or after crasharama? ;p all year long these things were neglected and just so happens before the biggest $ maker they were taken care of. I would love to be optimistic here but they aren't giving anything to work with.
                        "Brickwall" is at it again.

and in all honesty these things not being maintained to begin with were inexcusable, and I don't see how its commendable that they finally did maintenance. I mean, shit....... I flushed my toilet today, took the garbage out, and mowed the yard. don't worry about my roof that's caved in, & broken windows. that's next years project. neighbors should be excited right? lmao.

I understand Boneman getting all excited, the sprints are where its at for him, and after a night of good racing, with a promise of being able to run it again next year, there is a lot to be excited about for him.

on the other hand, the rest of us sit here in limbo as always waiting. I can only run 1 track (I assume many others are in a similar situation) if I count on OSW running my class on a regular basis and a schedule isn't out until last min. and then I find out OSW isn't running my class, I am now behind at other tracks.

meanwhile all season you will hear the famous "come support us, we need a car count to keep running" from the same people that think this last min. stuff is acceptable.

Shain, it's not just about the aboved mention, also it limits other cars coming to Speed World, even NSS cars. It's my opinion(and we know what opinions are) but I feel it is unsafe. But you are the one doing the testing. Remember those are tests. I remember when the sportsman ran them there was indeed quite a bunch of bearing and rotor/hub failure. I haven't heard of any other tracks running 10 inch wheels/tires on mods. Why not then just let us go and start running Tour Type Mods.
