LOL you think you need 8" treaded tires to prove what has already been proven in FL....are you related to an engine builder???....Biggest argument the last two weeks is because a driver chose an 11k 500hp motor over a 19k 600hp motor and won on 10" slicks.....we already "see who can set up a car and drive".....and there's 20 more like'em here capable of the same results....

If your loosing now....you'll be losing on 8" treaded tires....quit making excuses

If things could just start over. Than the track could get back to keeping open and the boys could try to not go broke. I think this is the problem we all need to address. The Track ownship Business is a very hard Business. They all need your support. Wayne and Tom both LOVE RACING. So lets start over and everone just may just keep our SPORT ALIVE!

The answer is simple:

NO spec motors!

For the racer:
Follow the rules at whatever track you are running. Speak up if you think they are unfair, but do NOT revolt. Remember, they need your income and the income of fans coming in to survive. You are there to excite the fans and help the track make a living. Remember, ci=hp and handling is even better. A better driver can overcome a lot. Wouldn't you rather win legally and feel really good than to cheat for a hollow victory?

For the tracks:
Drop the spec motor rules, then it doesn't matter if it is sealed or not. Pull it if it is legally challenged or a part of your inspection. Tear it down and check it. Suggest all tracks adopt a universal rule book so the racers can go where they are treated fairly. No, you won't get a full field every night, but the racers will come back if they believe it is fair for all. Require the ci and/or weight on the hood and cause the bigger ci to have more weight.


Other:
It does not help with this type of bickering. A good fight on the straight-a-way will bring more fans. A good fight in the pitts brings nothing. Sad thought!

Rick, please remember this is just talk, all of it. So if I don't agree 100% please don't get upset o'k? I believe you now more about it than I do but feel I'm entitled to my opinion, right? This has all been very interesting talk but instead of constructive discussion my feeling is its been more owners and fans bashing track owners, and track owners reacting to it. I know this is just my feeling and everyone is entitled to disagree with me. Personally I do not know Rex and met John once, which i know it makes some people mad, but John treated us first class. I also understand his doing anything he can to avoid what he sees as a possible threat of a law suit. Note: I didn't say a law suit, I said Possible Threat of a law suit. I'm a business man too and if I found out a customer of mine brought a law suit against their former company I would be very reluctant to renew his contract the following yr. Why? Because the courts are inclined to rule AGAINST a business. If anything has been learned by this, it should be work on the rules and clarify them, I mean what if an engine builder someone has used for yrs and trusts are not on the "List"? What qualifies a builder and who makes the decision which ones are approved? By not being approved does that mean no-one else is good enough, or just that an approved builder has to approve the engine someone else built? I won't say here wether I think that engine would be approved. Just questions, is all. Also it seems pre-tech is not a guarantee of approval, they're only there a few mins. I think pre-tech should be looked at more of a service to the owners so if they find anything obvious you may have a chance to correct it before the race, or MAY have time, at least you got the chance, but not a guarantee everything is o'k. Most things wrong the teams know about ahead of time, they're just pushing the envelope, they have to. I bet anything the seals will be right from now on. So yes I agree with Bobby this time, everyone should of learned, the track owners AND car owners, and it has been educational and interesting to us fans. Although I've asked 2-3 times "were the seals legal or not"? I can't get it from either thread. From what little I understand, I think everyone SHOULD go back to start, allow Anderson back and everyone maybe sign a paper acknowledging while Pre Tech will do the best they have time to do, it is NOT a guarantee you will will pass post race inspection, or maybe just forget pre-tech, and tech every car after the race, after all if # 8 car is wrong that hurts #9 on back right? just my thoughts.

Many owners are not listening!! But some are as the doors close.

Listening

Many owners listen to what is happening (cars and tracks) out there. It takes time for changes to happen on either side(and money).

There are maybe 100 car owners out there in the state that can supply all their race teams need and want. You see them come to the track with the 450K rigs. There are about 6-7 times that many that make decisions on what they can do next and it is based on availeable funds(or not). Mostly, they only buy what they really have to have. You see them come in on a trailer that JUST gets the job done.

Key is, it is that latter group that satisfies and helps the track owners more than the former.

Not to shun either group or the people in between.

I love it when an underdog wins a race because of hard work and perseverance as most do.
