I took the time to read the whole rule book.... And found a lot of vague areas. But one thing is repeated over and over... if an issue is unclear, WE will decide, end of story.

One thing I did have to laugh at though. One of the reasons for GETTING a Black flag, is for IGNORING a Black flag.

        It ain't NASCAR....

        C'mon.....it's Auburndale Speedway in Florida.
        Not Daytona Beach and NASCAR.

Actually, I think we could go thru most any short tracks "rule book" and find a lot of effed up stuff. And don't most race tracks put in a codicil (for you, Rick) stating they have the final say about anything that happens at their track?

I think escortbeast hit the nail on the head here. We heard both sides of the story from the major players who were directly involved and, like most disputes go, we got two arguments that contradicted each other on every point. Though, it is kind of funny when one of the top rung drivers or owners finally posts on a board and blesses the masses with their version of the "the truth" and then everybody comes on praising and thanking them for enlightening us all.

Did anybody really expect Wayne to come on here and tell us that, "yeah...we knew the motor wasn't right but we thought we could sneak it by em' just this one time" or for Rex to pipe up and admit he has a bitter hatred for Wayne and will do anything in his power to see he never wins another race at Auburndale?
        Really? Anybody?....

I'm not a Wayne Anderson fan but that doesn't keep me from acknowledging that he is one of the, if not the best, Late Model racer in the state. You can't argue with facts. On the race track, he's the guy to beat whether he's in his car, his dad's ride or Tom's car or a three-speed Schwinn bicycle.
        He's just that damn good.

I don't know Rex Guy and until Saturday night wouldn't have recognized him sitting next to me in a church let alone a race track tech area. Have I read a buttload of stuff about him and how he runs his track on here and other racing sites? Yep. Some good. Lots of bad. But that's pretty par for most of the Florida promoter/owners, right? They either can do no wrong or they're the biggest jerks on earth. One thing though...he actually owns a race track and doesn't just talk about it so he's got most of us there...

I don't know Tom Sytsma either though I have enjoyed watching his cars at tracks throughout Florida for as long as I can remember. And I enjoy reading the posts he has made on KARNAC regarding the state of Late Model racing in Florida. Very knowledgeable and never rude to anybody even when they are to him. Seems like a real class act.

So what compels me to believe what any of them say or write is the gospel pertaining to what happened Saturday night?

        I don't know.

But I am easily influenced by money.

Maybe Steve from Progressive will be the next one to deliver a "long-time reader, first-time poster" edict and then he can set us straight on his version of the "conversation".

        OJ

Thanks to all three of you for coming on here to air it out.......see?....I had to geek up and slobber out a "thank you" just like everybody else.....lol

Is it true Strictly Stocks at OSW can now only run specific sealed engines built by E&H Car Crushing?

Hey Tommy... keep your chin up... you guys are good people!

                United?

I thought the title of the association was Florida United Promoters Assc. If each track can decide (at the drop of a hat) which SEALED motors are legal on any given night how is that united. It would be a mighty cold day in hell before I would leave any part of my race car in the hands of a promoter especially one who has a problem with me anyway Wayne would have been wrong no matter what he did.

What a shame this whole mess is. I might be old, and need help writing this post. But one thing is sure, I am not deaf. Neither are the people who where around the area when this started. Do you think other people didn't hear you! Yes, there was a lot of yelling going on. But the words that where said where clear, and so was the intent. What's wrong with you? When are the track owners going to realize that without the teams and drivers YOU HAVE NO SHOW! Fans come to see a good race, not to see a someone change the rules so his guys wins, or to add fuel to a fire that is already burning. Shame, Shame on you!

                    Road Kill?

I have mixed feelings on this issue since I have worked with Fenton and the FOUR crew, owned my own race team, promoted races on several levels, and seen the demographics of division in a series destroy it first hand. Both sides in this mess have their good and their personal points of view and both have some merit. The big issue is that for the good of all they need to sit down over a beer and listen to each other and work it out.

Track operation is real pressure and Auburndale is a clean facility with some sticking points to be sure (everybody has them) and running the 77 or any car today is real pressure to avoid starvation. What you both need to remember is that you need each other so find common ground before everyone suffers for once the fans desert you, they stay gone and you both starve. This is entertainment first and foremost and you both eat off the proceeds at the gate so get over it and bury the hatchet before you have nothing left to argue about. Thanks to both sides for what was a fine race and tribute to the Wescotts.

How's that for two cents worth?

I have the restrictors on so I will keep this simple......The flaw I see in the rulebook is this....They are NOT Florida SPEC motors, they are FASCAR SPEC motors.... So pick your poison! If FASCAR approved the Koury motors into their SPEC motor program, then ALL FASCAR SPEC motors are legal or they are ALL illegal....

The remedy to this is simple, if any track in the state of FL doesn't want FASCAR SPEC motors running at their track they should say so now to avoid future problems...

Not bad. My last post on my thread explains why I went home. I did not feel good enough sunday to pull motor after getting home at 4:30 am.(I am really in homstead mm5 on tunnpike.)And I did have business on monday here.I did take the motor to Progressive today, while I am posting this I just got the call motor is A#1 legal no problem.
Also last night Pollsitter 61 posted the agreement that this engine was legal for FUPS and also verified the seal numbers. That post was "Edited due to politics..." in minutes by pressure from our favorite promoter. I do have a copy of the post and of the seal #'s that are legal for FUPS for future use.Progressive will verify the #'s and that seals were intact.
As far as I can tell this engine is legal any where but for a stand alone a-dale show. Sure wish SOMEONE would have warned me while I was only there from Thur afternoon til sat night, or at the first 2 times I went through tech.
I would like to thank Rex for allowing me to plug in my motorhome, but not for much more.

                            Well.....

Well, well, well. What do you say to that Rex old boy. Now Man up. At the least you should refund their entry fees and if you want to be a real Man you would write them a $5000 check, lick you wounds and go on. Most of these guys would at least have some respect for you, if you admit the mistake and go on.
Bob we have not been to PGS in a long time, we'll see you this weekend. As a fan I'm done with "A-dale" and will spend my money somewhere else. That is unless this is made right. Bucky

Congrats to Wayne and the 77 team! I've watched Wayne race for years and have seen how hard he is to beat. I don't think we've raced together but I really don't think he would need anything illegal to beat much of anybody. He brings tons of knowledge and ability to the track...don't think that's illegal!
