Tim seals perfect until removed by Brian. You can take off your governer now.As for the $5000 I thought it was clear that I that thought I would never be paid for that race no matter what we did. After the deed is done you can think of a thousand different ways this could have gone down or things done differently. We just spent $10,000 to rebuild this car after the wreck ay LakeCity and over $2000 to run this race, so as 5g's is a ton of $ the cost to run these stupid cars far outways what little you can get back.
And NOBODY gets MY motor unsupervised but Progressive!Off to PGS we go I really don't know why.
    The money comes and goes.
The trophy we get to keep.

Hello wonderful man Bill, hope your doing well and your wife too. It seems like if the Anderson's, Catarelli, Storer,Davis, Williamson's and I can go on win races, someone had a problem with them either cheating or driving bad. Hello how long have we witness this. It use to be so much fun to go to races and get inspected before you even went on the track and have fun after the races, remember the good ole days Bill??? Now you get to the track early in the afternoon or even the day before and they want you to stay till wee hours of the night. I don't understand if the man passed inspection then why have him tear down after he wins. WHAT IF; Jeff won the race, felt sorry for him, what would Rex had done to him. I like all drivers, just the one's that raced against my son back in the early 2000's...hahha had to put that one in. No really I appreciate the ones that are still running so we can get out on a Saturday night and enjoy what we love so much. Time for this to stop and the drivers are in as they say "the drivers seat" and can stop it by not running there anymore. Enough with these late hours and DQ's at 12:00midnight. Come on people, enjoy what your doing, it is not your Life or is it??? Happy racing and Be Safe...Always a fan, JPRACING45@aol.com p.s. been in racing all my life and it is not getting any better, sad :-(

          hmmmmmmmm

the writing is on the walls track owners. please read it so you can get back on track. we need you and you need us. make it fair and do things right and all will benefit. right now it really sucks. especially for guys like Wayne who dont do this as a hobby. this is how he feeds his family. it is his JOB to race and try to win money. so you havent just hurt him. you have hurt his wife and children and left a big blemish in our sport. just trying to keep it honest. wayne doesnt NEED to cheat... he works on his car all week making it the best it can be for racing. and he sure knows how to race it! this whole thing is a real shame.

              to clarify my post...

i personally wasnt there and i have no idea what actually happened. my post was general. tracks do need to do some serious promoting and get crowds back in... and drivers... wayne does race for a living. that is a fact... and he doesnt NEED to cheat. he can drive the wheels off any race car. however... everyone who owns a race car has alot invested and they cant afford to lose money either. even guys who race for others spend a fortune to put on a show for us. we dont want to see any racer lose out on what they can earn! never....
if he did cheat i sure dont know about it. how could i ?
was my post just saying Rex needs to change. no it says all the tracks need to. PROMOTION! that is the key to a successful business! there are alot of negative things that come on the board that alot of us really dont know anything about and we still run our uneducated mouths. lol
i hope one day we can all pull together and this board will be full of fun posts from drivers and fans! thats what Jack wanted for so long.... so i hope i have explained myself .... i hope all of you have an awesome night of racing... God speed and God bless...

                  Promotion of the sport.

Carol Wicks makes the most valid point of this post. As I said in the past, this is an entertainment medium and that requires both the venue and the performers to work in concert for the benefit of both. Personalities aside, if you don't work this out in a fair manor and go forward you will both suffer as the fans that "should" pay the freight will disappear and then you are left as it seems you already are, the performers paying themselves to play and the promoters taking skim off the top. It can't work that way just like a ponzi scheme it runs out of cash. Sit down with someone who knows the PROMOTION business and LEARN how to put seats in the stands. It works every time and you can not race for the purses you can afford to pay today so you better put your egos in neutral and your brains in drive or this will be an extinct art form. Promotion is easy if you just play by a few tried and true rules of the game and if it works for Humpy it will work with some twists for you as well. I would hate to think that short track racing died as a pissing contest. that's a hell of an epitaph for something we all love or we wouldn't be on this forum. Sucess really is a team sport.
sigpicRacing is an addiction, not an occupation!

You must remember who you are talking to (an owner) who has one big problem he can't get around. His ego. As do a few other owners.

                      Rick

The way I am seeing and reading this is it's not about ego's here, it is about right and wrong! Pre tech don't mean s___t!! What matters is what you are after the race. Now if they were told they can run with those illegal/unapproved seals on there then that is a whole other issue. From what I am hearing is that is not the case. Nothing had been said. It was just over looked. Not knowing the rules and playing stupid as to what the rule book reads is no excuse. Exspecially at this level of racing. They should be doing cleaner and better than the lower classes. If I was racing in that class on that night I would regardless of my finishing position, I would pat the tech guys on the back for enforcing the rules! The tech teams need to be more literal. Just my opinion!

??pre tech doesn't mean anything?" in a mixed class race? When does tech decide how much the car should weigh? Why scale them at all then. And if it was missed in pre tech should they have checked it after qualifying in the top 5 or is that all just for looks too. There were many unsealed motors in that race, other limiteds, And other supers

That is correct pre tech don't mean anything. I don't believe that was a impound race. you can go thru tech, go back to your pit and change things such as weight, ect, ect. As far as the other cars being illegal also they must not have finished in the top 3.

Your missing the point Deuce....to the Tech man this motor WAS legal to run this race! I commend him for trying to do the right thing. It wasn't until the owner stepped in after the race and declared this unwritten rule that the motor even came into question. As I posted on a previous thread, this race was promoted and ran per the FUP series rules. In the rulebook there are NO approved "Florida SPEC" engine builders specified. You are correct, the tech man wasn't wrong....

Clearly FASCAR which makes up half of the FUP would not have signed off on the FUP rulebook if it's intention was to exclude certain engines it had just deemed legal in the last year....This is clearly an Auburndale rule brought forward after the race....

Tim, first of all, I have never seen them check seal numbers before a race!! I personally never knew about Koury engines being in the spec program?? When they added it to the fast series rules, they should of been allowed or not allowed in the fups series. When you grandfather in 1 or 5 engines behind closed doors, it is going to create problems!!! period. How many people really knew about this engine deal?? I agree the 3 Florida engine builders should be listed in the rule book, 100%, but there not, so the fact that they are not listed in the rule book, does not mean you can run any spec engine, correct. Give Rex a break will you!! What if wayne would have come in second, and the first place car had seals on it that did not match the list?? If those numbers were correct, they should have been on the list. Now no one will ever know if there was a problem with the engine, clutch, or transmission?? i personally think Rex is one of the best promoters in the state, and this was not entirely his fault.....the big problem here is you cant put in the rule book that you can only have 5 of these engines grandfathered in?? It makes no sence!!!!

I've seen plenty of racers claim ignorance of the rules. But I have to say this is the first time I have seen a track put on the "biggest" paying race in the state, promote it under a set of rules, throw out the winner and when questioned on their decision, THEY claim ignorance to the rules?

If it appears that I'm beating up Rex you need to read into my posts deeper....Rex was the tool used (the patsy)....If Rex's ego hadn't got in the way of his good decision making, he would have seen this and not been in this situation. But now he's paying the price and taking all the lumps.....its another lesson learned in racing.

I'll end with this. Every "APPROVED" FL SPEC Motor builder was present and agreed that these 5 motors were grandfathered into the program. I hold each of them more responsible for this than I do Rex. Brian from Progressive was present in the tech area when this all took place, he could have educated them and "informed" Rex about this at any time.....I almost feel sorry for Rex. I've been there and done it.....but when "common sense took over" and I realized what had happened, I stopped it and fixed it.....it cost Robert Hart ALOT!!! But he was willing to do it to make it right. And I promised to never let that happen again THAT'S AN OWNER!!!!!

I say almost because Rex has done nothing to fix it yet.....
