So let me see if I got this right. The car - and motor - were cleared by tech. The track *owner* (or promoter) or whoever he is, didn't like the fact that the 77 got to Victory Lane, so *he* decides "the motor isn't legal" because it wasn't pulled? Now, I am, by far, NOT an Anderson fan - never have been. But if the car was cleared, why would the track owner want the motor pulled?? Just because he don't like the 77 team?

Hate to see this kind of controversy surround what sounds like was a *great* event.

Fenton, good job on pulling this one off. Suggestion for next year: move it to Inverness, where Bryan won a lot of races

      DQ

      Tom,
Sounds to me you have a possible Lawsuit in regards of this issue you have had with Auburndales owner/promoter, due to the fact that hes at fault.

        Un-be-SEAL-able.....

More stupid stuff all brought about by the advent of "sealed" racing engines.

The 77 had seals on its engine.
Of this, I have no doubt.

They could have been little, painted on mammals with bouncing balls on their noses but, yes, I'm sure it had some "seals" on it somewhere.

Apparently, they just weren't the "correct" seals for what the rules were.

Maybe it's just me....but if I were racing for five large to win I have to think that I would seek out the tech man upon my arrival at the track and show him my "sealed" motor with the important question, "Will my engine be legal after the race?"
Then, if he didn't like my little seals, I could load up and head for the beach instead of spending three days in the heat and rain nervously hoping if I made to the tech area that nobody would see that my seals weren't of the correct species.

But then, really, after three days in the heat and rain I also feel pretty confident that if my engine were truly "legal" I wouldn't have a problem spending another 45 minutes pulling it out right then and there to assure my claim to the five grand and the trophy.

        If....my motor was truly legal.

After all, it's not like having some kind of driver-operated, suspension-adjusting device mounted inside your car or anything.

Cuz, you know, that would just be way over the top.

Or if the owner of the track (cause apparently tech didn't) had a problem with this particular motor running in this race he could have informed the team prior them spending a dime at the track. Knowing Tommy, if he knew the engine was in question, the motor would have been at Steve's last Monday BEFORE he spent his money to go through this.

The "I" man and "Bobblehead" strike again. Another black eye on FL LM racing.

Did any other engines get impounded?
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

It is apparent to me Andersons motor was illegal or they would have had no problem pulling it. If people would follow the rules then this would never happen. Also, Rex had a car in the race so if he put the money up to have the motor checked, whats the problem regardless if he is the owner/promoter? I dont care for the way Auburndale is ran but I dont see a problem in this situation.

Escort.... this wasn't done as a car owner protesting....and you know this....and what rules are you speaking of??? FUP sereis??? Yeah well this motor is legal in the FUP series...ran before no problems....and including this race, never ran off and left the field.....

If I was Tommy (and knowing his history with Wayne) I would have told them the same....FU!!! This was completely hypocritical....

again, there were only three spec engines approved for this race, cre, jimmycope, and progressive. no engines were checked before the race. you cant just let anybody put seals on and call them spec engines. if there engine had all the corect part numbers, they would have tore it down?? i have always been told, if the correct seals are not on the engine, it is illigal period....

                        7. Crate, Sealed or Spec Engines must have proper seals in place, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Im on no sides here. I am just a spectator speaking my opinion. Just because Wayne didnt leave the field doesnt mean he was legal. Hell there probably wasnt a legal car in the top 10.

If this wasnt a car owner protest, what was it? If you dont see the rules for this race then how can you say that he was legal?

You can't be serious he put up money because he believes his car was beat only because wayne had from what I was told was a limited motor sealed by an unaproved builder, still weighed 2850 like a super has to, not taking the 100lb weight break, only got by the 07 because he broke. ?? Who was holding the cash for the protest?? Was it put up in time? was is a protest or was it a call from tech. Are you just tring to find a way to rationalize this. It may sit well in a few minds but REAL racers and fans see how WRONG this is. Who s next?

                                re : obvious

wayne could have showed up there with a bone stock junkyard 305 and finished 50 laps down and rex would have still disqualified him for something made up . no way is wayne ever going to take 10 cents from that track . this had absolutly nothing to do with motors period . rex cant stand wayne and will do anything to hurt him .
