first IROC win??Originally posted by ancrdave View PostI'll let everyone chew on the #43 picture for another day... I have another picture that goes along with that one but I can't load it on KARNAC from this Mac, so I'll do it tomorrow from my PC at the other office...
Here's another piece of trivia to see if anyone remembers...
Dale Earnhardt won the 1990 IROC race at Talladega... What was interesting about this event pertaining to Earnhardt... and it had nothing to actually do with the cars in it or the race itself..."I watch figure skating for the crashes"

I'll take "Whitey" for 200, Alex...
"Whitey Gherkin"?
OK, more IROC trivia.
The first IROC series was a true International Race of Champions. What cars were used the first two years, who won the very first race, and what year did IROC originate?
I'll answer Dave's question about Earnhardt and the IROC race in '90. Was it Dale's first win in a Dodge?
The #98 Grey Rock Chevy....Richie Panch in '75 at Pocono?Last edited by Jimmy McKinley; 03-24-2011, 06:29 PM.

I attended that IROC .Porsche was the car. It was Daytona, I think Mark Donahue won , Bobby Unser and Peter Revson were real close at the finish line , 3rd place maybe . Modifieds also raced on the road course that day. 1974 ,that is all I remember about the IROC that day.

Daytona wasn't the first race, though. You're off on the year
