Since the tuna is sounding all defensive, I'll give him some rational answers.

The email address in my profile is correct and active. I've never received a thing from you. Never. This morning I checked the email link by using it to send something to myself. It had not arrived by the time I left for work, so it is possible that the email system that operates through this site is not working properly.

I am very easy to find. I have a car at OSW almost every week, and have run a few times this year at NSS too. We even know many of the same people, believe it or not.

I do not believe that your buddy got DQ'd for not following the pace car. When you make a inflammatory statement like that, which is designed to damage the track, you need to be able to prove it. He got DQ'd for something else, not for failing to follow the pace car properly. When you throw stones you can expect them to be batted back.

that's what i thought, when you "email" something through the forum software it gets sent "blind" ( the sender doesn't get to see the receivers email address ).

so, if one of the presets in the software is f'd up your email will never go through. evidently the board doesn't return an email failure message to the sender either, which is pretty dumb.

keep in mind, the receiver WILL see the email address of the sender IF the email goes through. but the sender will never know what the destination address is UNLESS the receiver replies to him.

Orlando...<sigh...> This place needs to do *something* to promote. I see ads on TV once in a great while for New Smyrna, hear ads on the radio for Auburndale...just wondering why Orlando can't get anything ad-wise in such a populated area (newspaper, radio, and TV). And with central Florida being a high-ranking tourist destination, you'd think they might try and go after that market - out-of-town race fans here on vacation. Dad/kids take a day/evening "off" of the vacation to come over and watch the races, while Mom goes shopping at Downtown Disney/CityWalk. But again...in traffic, it's quite a drive from this end of town - nearly an hour and a half to go 40-some miles in Friday afternoon/evening traffic. And that's going across 417 and 408 to SR 50.

Isn't there a saying if you're in the racetrack-promoting business - "To make money, first you have to spend money..."?

yes and thats the ONLY way things are going to improve . waiting and hoping for the racers and fans to give in and come back is just a fantasy . to get the racers back you gotta dangle that carrot and tech the hell out of em . to get the fans back you have to give em a show that they wont forget at an affordable price .

The only time I see an ad on tv for OSW is for Crash-a-rama. None any time through out the year. What I would like to see is more ads such as maybe a billboard along busy highways advertising the track. "Racing this Friday night starting at 8pm", show pictures of race cars from all divisions, and ticket prices "Always $10 for grandstand and $15 for pits". I know I am only dreaming...



We are working on the race car to come back but family does come first and our son just had his second surgery in less than year. I have gone back to work and only have weekends to try and work on car but usually someone calls wanting something done so they come first (especially if it is to make more money to get the car going again).
