They have been running a crate, the same one (602) since last season when his Dad drove it.

Ok try this
gm engine with break of bolts.
1remove valve cover and losen rockers
2 remove timing cover
3 turn engine upside down
4 remove cam shaft
5 bet u can take it from here

Eric ,switched to a crate august of last year when built motor blew up, crate does just fine also a crate in the sportsman.

yea the crate motor is doing fine they are running them in super stock ,sportsman and e-mod this was a great move by fascar doing this it saved alot of money for the racers. all the track has to do is keep on top of them . cam doctor what ever it takes and when they find someone that has taken it apart cheated it up its easy just banned them from the class.

Hate to burst your buble Don, but the crate motor has seal bolts on the timing cover as well..

Did u ever see the key chains i made out of new bolts and gave them out at a meating? Ask john and Bobby.
Most anything can be cheated . Try to make rules that save money and dont let money take advantige.
Creat engines would be great if everyone had one. The only way i though was good is for the promoter has one new one and trades it to the guys that win to much. Then he gives the engine he got to the guys in the back that think that all the engines are cheated . Now the crying from the cars in the back will stop.
saw this happen in SLM a few years ago.
