I agree but thats not the way it is. As far as naming extreme right wing republicans that vote strictly for party lines, there are a few but none as bad as the above mentioned on the other side.

I'm positive about that . And while were're on the subject of facts , let me also say that there is no one internet site , no one tv network , no one talk show host that can give the facts . Other than the actual original documents themselves , you're taking someones word for it . And that someone probably knows about as much as you do on the subject . So you're not gonna learn much about this world without an awfull lot of reading . From the New York Times right thru the New York Post . From Hannity right through John Stewart . From Tom Friedman through Ann Coulter . Take all of the ideas and use them to form your own opinions . And you'll find that if you're not married to one political party , you will be agreeing with people from both sides of politics about a wide variety of issues . Because one side never has all the answers .

EDM - "spoken like a true uneducated liberal" is the exact BS I would expect from people arguing the points you are arguing. Your mind is closed and that is fine - as is Bonemans - hey that is your right.

Do you even acknowledge a single positive point from this administration or the actions trying to be put forward? To me that will answer all I need to know about the type of people I am talking to on this board.

Bonehead - challenging stupidity must be self defeating for you.

            how can all this be?

i am having a hard time understanding how anyone can blame Obama for all these problems. he has only been in office 8 months and it isnt he alone who makes ANY decisions. im not saying whether he is wrong or right because i dont know. if i had all the answers like some of you do, i would be president...all i know is these problems with the economy had to have escalated when Bush got in. when clinton was pres. we had a surplus, no war, no major problems except maybe a dirty dress... minor problem of hillarys... not ours.... now we are in debt several trillions of dollars, at war with everyone and in in the worse recession since the great one! (Obama hasnt had time to do all that)
someone mentioned cleaning "house" and senate.. im in total agreement... some of them are in their 80's! old ideas. old minds and old bodies. we need fresh new blood. people who have families and children who know what its like to struggle. the old codgers are making a fortune screwing up our govt.
you guys are always calling each other names and insulting each other...and you wonder why the world is a mess... between greed, bigotry, ignorance, and laziness, we have caused most of our own problems. i definitely am not calling the people on this board those things... just Americans in general...
you think its ok to tell senior citizens who care about people to STFU! well it isnt. it is rude and cruel and ill mannered... i dont agree with alot of you but i wouldnt think of degrading you...especially the ones i considered friends... shows ya... ya just cant expect old timers like me to be right about anything.
ted kennedy is on deaths door. he has brain cancer... still a senator! still making decisions, still exonerated from paying for Mary Jos death in chappaquidick... i dont mean to be cruel but we really need to start thinking about new representation.thank you for your time... im just not believing some of the posts on here... incredible... maybe im behind the 8 ball too. but i have the same rights as you...

It just so happens 234 years ago we were having discussions very similar to what we are having now. We were being taxed to death by the British and the American settlers were having a tough time trying to decide what to do. I think we all know what happened next. Obama may not be British but he isn't American in my book either.

Edm , i'm gonna leave this thread to you . I think we've pretty much covered everything . But i will make one last observation . When you say Obama is not American in your book , what would you say he is ? The only true Americans are the American Indians . They were here long before we were . And as for the British , there're the ones who settled this country, remember Plymouth Rock ? By the way , where are your grandparents and great grand parents from .
I imagine you're talking about the ridiculous and already settled argument that Obama was not born in the US . It just isn't true . Thats what i mean about finding out for yourself and not taking the word of a tv or radio hack . And remember to pace yourself with this hate thing .

Oh sweet jeezus - now he isnt an american? and I am the damn idiot?

Listen, if I ever can seem to find you guys at the races, I will buy you and Boneman a beer and promise to avoid any political debates. I typically dont disagree with you guys on the subject of racing so that might be a better subject to talk about.

I have found some of the points made on here to be enlightening and some to be more rehashed FoxNews headlines and scare tactics. I said my piece and other than really delving into personal attacks over politics on a racing board there aint much else to say.

Georgia and the mid west. Cherokee on one side Sioux on the other. Its Obamas ideas for the hatred, not his color.

                      very informative

First and foremost, Edm, Never argue with an idiot cause they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. There have been a lot of different veiwpoints demonstrated here and it's nice to see a bunch of racers so enthusiastic about such important issues. I agree with alot of what AJ, Rex, Edm, and even CW( dont tell anybody) have said here. Sorry Bubba, my business is off by 50% as well and that my friend, pisses me off. It may not be Obamas fault, but he DAMN sure aint helping it any! But when you get down to brass tacks, we live in a pop culture society that is more interested in whats going on in Hollywood than they are whats happening in government. Most people think it's not my problem(yet), or someone else will take care of it or what can I do anyway. They have forgotten that this country is for the people! WE have the power to change things. We dont need some "rock star wannabe" to do it for us. People need to dig and search for the knowledge they need to make well informed decisions. Decisions that affect us, our kids, and all future generations. Forget about parties, what the media says and all the B.S. that gets in the way of common sense thinking. ALWAYS form your own opinion based on the knowledge that you have attained and never be ashamed to stand up for what you believe in!! Last I heard, that was still one of our American rights.

                          In todays paper.

it said that there is proof positive that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii ... Hawaii being a state makes him an American... Like someone said...unless we are American Indians, we are all off the banana boat! so what???? this is our country... our home...and we need to take better care of it!
                          carolwicks aka OZ

i believe that an across the board tax system will fix alot of problems.. tax every single working American the same % of their income... No tax write offs for ANYONE... Plan your spending better. have your meetings in your office... not on your yacht...not in a bar or a fancy restaurant.. i also think if someone is 100% caretaker of an elderly or incapacitated parent they should get the same exemptions as a parent with under 18 yr. old children... the elderly sort of revert back to childhood. needing alot of care and guidance. maybe if they were allotted a tax break they would take better care of their elderly parents and not cost the govt. that money...
also read about medicare fraud in miami... a billion dollars... sheeesh...

and this proof would be..... ?

hint: the short form certification is not the same thing as a birth certificate. and there is testimony that it was common practice for out-of-country Hawaiians to file for and receive short form certifications for children born out of the country back then. a notice posted in a paper is also not "proof", as that would have been issued by the same functionaries who were handing out false certifications.
                              http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=105347

comparison of a real Hawai'i birth certificate and the only documentation that Obama has permitted to be made public thus far that i'm aware of:

notice that the certification doesn't include such critical data as the place of birth or attending/witnessing physician?

why Obama won't produce a real birth certificate or even tell us where he was actually born doesn't "prove" anything. but it certainly does look incriminating.

as far as claims that "Obama couldn't have gotten on the ballot if he wasn't eligible", that's absurd. Roger Calero is a resident alien from Nicaragua who was the national presidential candidate for the Socialist Workers Party in both 2004 and 2008.
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%B3ger_Calero

it is a known fact that flagrantly illegal and ineligible candidates are being placed on the ballot.

Hawaii being a state makes him an American

there is a difference between "citizen" and "natural born citizen". Obama's father being from Kenya gives him at least dual citizenship under the UK ( because Kenya was a British protectorate at the time ) and, hence, it would be expected that he might have divided loyalties. "divided loyalties" is exactly what the "natural born citizen" clause was supposed to prevent.

and American law at the time required the mother to have been a resident of the US for at least 5 years after her 15th birthday in order to transmit citizenship in the case of a non-citizen father. she was 18.

not that i think anything will come of this. the Supreme Court has already refused to address the issue and unless the Dhimms get absolutely massacred in the 2010 elections there's no way he will be impeached.

You know, one thing that's striking me about this whole deal is that there are some really intelligent, articulate, passionate and dedicated people on this board, on BOTH sides of these issues. And this is just a tiny slice of the rest of the real world out there. Take a couple minutes and try to imagine how much good could be done if you could harness all of that energy and get it pulling in the same direction as opposed to beating each other up and trying to prove how ignorant anyone who as an alternative point of view is. To all of you who think this is all some kind of contest, hope y'all WIN!! Whatever that means........
