  • Obama night at the races

I despise politics on this board, but some of you have no clue what is in store for you.

    Obama Night at the Races

    Admission:
Illegal aliens, criminals and minorities pay nothing and can bring their entire families!
Working people pay $45 each, but can only watch half the races.
"The rich"* pay $7,575 each, but are not allowed into the track.

To insure a diverse field, racecars will be awarded to minority, GBLT and woman drivers. White men will provide their own cars, and will always start last.

The races will be outcome based, so everyone finishes in the same position, no matter how much or how little they work on their cars.

All payouts will be taxed at 45% to pay for safe driving programs, and the remainder of the pay will be confiscated to buy carbon credits**. The carbon credits will "offset the pollution" created by the cars.

The National Anthem will not be sung, and the American flag will not be raised. Instead, we'll listen to some native American drumming, followed by the songs of whales as we salute the flag of the United Nations.

You will be told where to sit and who to cheer for, so that no driver feels rejected.

Good parody reflects reality. How far away from this do you think we are?
Want to argue? I am a lot better informed, and much more pissed off, than you.

    * "The rich" is defined as anyone who has educated themselves, or who has worked, invested and risked capital and energy in their career.

** Carbon credits will be available primarily from White House cronies and enviromental con-men like Al Gore.

    Seriously?

I guess it all depends on everyone's definition of what the government should be doing. We all voted on it - it was pretty unanimous that the former way of doing things - basically the same screwing of the public and profits to big business and cronies of Dubya wasn't helping anybody but the rich. Why is it that when the help is to the less fortunate/lazy/minorities/whatever label you want to give them - it is a big deal? I fit squarely into the category that everyone says will feel the brunt of these changes. To me it seems like we are gonna get the same screwing but at least more people will be helped. Which may - i repeat may - help out the collective we call the USA - not just the white men who start last in your race night.

Do I think that we will ever have a perfect governing system in this country? Hell no! Why? Because the avg us citizen is a friggin idiot. Until we fix that, we gotta carry the dumb bastards along or we all suffer in the end with an unemployable labor base and even fewer manufacturing/production capabilities in our homeland. The hope is to strike a balance somewhere between a pure capitalistic screw the little guy mentality and some BS socialism like the european countries have.

You just have to look around to come to that conclusion. Uneducated voters cross all party lines.

Very true, but more now then in the past. Did you vote the way you did because George Clooney, Madonna or Sheryl Crowk said to vote for this person? We are literally paying for it now. They have so much money that they have totally lost touch with reality but they still campaign for someone when they have no clue themselves.

Uhh, i could give a flying fart about actors and actresses opinions on subjects like politics. As you mention they are in a world that you and I won't likely play in anytime soon, so I agree their opinions are probably founded on different rationale than you or I would use.

you know, i saw a very interesting bumper sticker this morning:
"Blame me, I voted for Obama"

now, i didn't speak to the driver so i have no idea if they were just being a smart ass ( as i so often am ) or if they were actually ... somewhat serious?

that was amusing though. i don't remember ever seeing a bumper sticker like that before. maybe i should have some stickers printed up that say something like "It's okay, anybody could make a mistake like voting for Obama once in their life".

How's that Hope and Change working for you?

the more honest these people are, the more amazing it is that anyone votes for them. and keeps voting for them. it just blows the mind.

Everybody gives the position of President waaaaaay to much credit/flack....They are pretty much a figure head. Now Obama has taken it to a new ROCK STAR level and stirred up the "uneducated friggin idiots" that were referred to in an earlier post.
If you want change in how this country is governed......over the next three elections, 2010,2012,2014...if every voter , right, left or middle, would vote the incumbent out of the congress and senate regardless of party affiliation, things would start to change. You also need to call or write the person you plan on voting for and tell him you will vote for whoever will put in term limits for congressmen and senators.
As for healthcare, there needs to be some reform as to the cost for a family. THis can be done in many ways including capping the lawsuits against doctors and hospitals. It costs a nuerosurgeon over $200,000 for insurance these days. That is probably the biggest cost to us all. But the government needs to stay out of insurance, banks and automakers. They are not a corporation....speaking of which, if you want to create jobs and increase manufacturing in this country, lower the nations corporate tax rate to 10-12% and watch ALL of those manufacturing jobs come back.

ALL I CAN SAY TO ALL OF YOU IS ASK YOUR CONGRESSMAN OR SENATOR TO PUT FORWARD THE FAIR TAX BILL. THEN WE WOULD ALL BE ON THE SAME PLAYING FIELD. RICH, POOR, BLACK, WHITE, RED or BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I didnt vote for "this", nor did I vote for "that" the time before.

And your right, most people dont have a clue.

If you think this current administration isnt pro "big-business" you need to do some research on what is going on behind the scenes. More good PR work by the media. What they dont talk about is how Goldman Sachs wants this carbon tax credit bs to pass more than anybody. Why? Essentially this will turn tax credits into a tradable commodity. Hey! Who do you think will benefit? Who will set it up and make a market for it? Goldman. It isnt about the environment, it isnt about me, you, or the next generation of children. It is about money - big money. Who is their man to do it? Obama. Goldman Sachs runs the show. Who was the treasury sec. under GW? Hank Paulson. Where'd he come from? You guessed it. Goldman. How about Obama's pick? Timmy "Turbo Tax" Geithner. Who's he? Most recently from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (hey how about that, the "Federal Reserve" isnt "Federal" nor do they have any "Reserves" - I'll let you research that one on your own). Before the Fed Bank of NY? Hey, what a coincidence! He is also from Goldman Sachs! Obama was the biggest puppet this time around, last time it was GW.

                      Goldman Sachs runs America.

Rex that was great, especially the "native American drumming" LOL

Reminds me of a joke I heard today,

This guy went on vacation on a Pacific island. As soon as he gets off the boat he hears drums beating in the distance. He asks the island native, "What's with the drums?"

The native says "drums good. When drums STOP, that is bad."

After a few hours he asks another native, "how long do the drums go on?"

The native says "drums good. When drums STOP, that is bad."

After a few days he is going nuts. Finally he slams the native up against a tree and says "I can't take it anymore! Why is it so bad when the drums stop? What happens when they stop? What is so bad?"

The native looks up at him with a terrified look on his face and says ...

                        "Bass solo!"

                            So, who should we blame....

                            How the world works lately...

If a man cuts his finger off while
                            slicing salami at work,
                            he blames the restaurant.

If you smoke three packs a day
For 40 years and die of lung cancer,
                            your family blames the
                            tobacco company..

                            If your neighbor crashes
into a tree while driving home drunk,
                            he blames the bartender.

                            If your grandchildren are
                            Brats without manners,
                            you blame television.

If your friend is shot by a
                            Deranged madman,
                            you blame the gun manufacturer.

And if a crazed person breaks
                            into the cockpit and
tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet,
                            and the passengers
                            kill him instead,
the mother of the crazed deceased
                            blames the airline.

I must have lived too long to
                            understand the world
                            as it is anymore.

So, if I die while my OLD WRINKLED ASS is parked in front of this computer,
I want all of you to
                            blame Bill Gates.
