Well I guess a BEER AT THE ?HOUSE is out of the question.
Facts from the SMALL BUSINESS OWNER since CHANGE came in.
    1. We have let 46 people go from 18 locations across the US.
    2. We will be letting another 125 go since the min wage has now made it no longer profitable to have them do the small things.
    3. We will HIRE 93 part time people in 27 locations to do the jobs of the 125 we released.
    4. IF the Carbon Tax passes we will close for good about 15 US locations.
    5. We now have more guns and ammo than some small countries and would like to see some idiot come and get them.
    6. This CHANGE is doing nothing but making the rich people MAD and if they decide to take their money and move we all are SCREWED!
By the way I DID NOT VOTE for that idiot since I am old enough to KNOW the Chicago way of Business!!
PS: Since the change our TOTAL loss in sales is about $7.25 MIL!!
    Have a nice day

We are down 35-40% too, after several very strong years before electing this idiot. I'd love to see the REAL unemployment numbers. We're being told it is 10%, but I think the real figure is being hidden and is much, much higher.

Bush did some things well and some things poorly, but I knew as soon as we elected this incompetent, corrupt figurehead, we would view the Bush years as the "good old days".

And you fools beleive that he is responsible for your business losses, not the total economic disaster that was already unfolding when he took office? By that I mean the years of negligence and blind eyes paid to the financial sector - that is why you have lost business my friends. Be glad he stepped in and did something or the numbers would be worse.

I can't think of any criteria you could use that would make the Bush years into the Good Old Days . Unless of course you were extremely wealthy when he came into office , then you got much wealthier while he was in office . But that didn't work out either , the economy tanked and even his wealthier friends lost their big gains .
I realize this whole thread is much more about a black man , not to mention a Democrat being voted in as President , than it is about the economy or accomplishments in office , but i'll just say that we have 3 and a half years to go , so theres no need in blowing our hate wads just yet guys . Ease into it , we need to pace ourselves .
Hating the President and/or politicians is about as useless a past time as there is . They get elected by saying what we want to hear , they do pretty much what they want after we elect them , we almost have to force them to leave office , just in time to bitch and complain about the new crop coming in .
Heres a thought about elections . If you are voting for someone because of their party , you're missing the point . No problem , no idea , no solution ever only has two sides to it , forget what Rush and Glenn and Bill , and Neil have to say . Life is far more complicated than a two party system . And voting is far too important to vote in someone who agrees with you about abortion , or gays in the military , or taxes . Because the person you vote for is going to have to make thousands of decisions that don't have anything to do with those two or three things . Thats why we need to get much smarter about voting , stop taking other peoples opinions as gospel and find out for ourselves who the best people are . AND VOTE AS A TRUE INDEPENDENT INSTEAD OF STRAIGHT PARTY LINES .

I wonder what an educated liberal would have said differently .

Unfortunately that is not the way it is. Do honestly think Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, John Kerry, Hillery just to name a few thinks of that when they voted?

"He stepped in and did something", you are the fool if you believe the economy was "hours away from collapse". We were doing very well until the stupid, corrupt self-serving democrats took over congress in 2006.

Yes, he did something: he spent more money than all previous presidents put together, tripled the national debt, refused to disclose where hundreds of billions went to bail out corrupt banks, unconstitutionally took over private business, SCREWED investors by seizing GM and giving it to his union supporters.

I will happily fight with you all day, but only by pm. I hate nasty politics on a racing board, but I won't let stupidy go unchallenged.

I don't have any idea how John Kerry or Ted Kennedy vote in elections, and neither do you . It would be pure speculation . Whats more , i couldn't care less who they vote for in an election , i'll make up my own mind .
I would hope they vote for the best person .
Again , more reason to drop the party lines and just vote for the best person and the best ideas .

Not the election, its how they voted in the senate, if you haven't paid attention to that you are even more uneducated then I originally thought.

We were doing quite well long after the Democrats took over congress Rex . There is no doubt whatsoever that the bottom dropped out of the economy during Bushs' watch . Was it his fault , not entirely , no . But the stimulous and the denial that something needed to be done were all from the Bush Admin. There were a lot of people , decisions , lapses , screwups , and lies that got us to where we are today . But pace yourself . If you have that much hatred for Obama let it out slowly over the next couple of years .

I can't speak for Rex but I am letting it out slowly. When you mess with a mans lively hood and you back him into a corner you better stand the hell by.

I'm curious Edm , how uneducated did you originally think i was ? As i said in my earlier post , i agree that politicians often vote along strict party lines . Well , not the Republicans of course , you can't find one single instance of the Republicans voting along party lines . Thats my point . There shouldn't be a Republican or Democrat party . People should run for office on the merits of their ideas , on their experience , on their integrity , and on their ability to lead . Not on the basis of being a member of one party or the other .

Are you sure about that? If so you should recheck your facts.
