i am sorry you lost your job. you and many many others who have been honest hard working people. we own a metal roofing company. instead of letting anyone go we cut back on some wages. the guys who work for us were happy to do that. we treated them extremely well when times were good and now they are working with us to help keep us afloat. we did have some layoffs and it was horrible because we had to let go some really hard working decent guys with families.
my point is Benny that talking about these problems on a racing board wont fix it. but if Americans worked together and let our govt. know our feelings and that we will not vote for them again unless they fix it...then MAYBE something will get done.
im 66 so if i lost my job i would be up poop creek without a paddle. i hurt for people like you who have contributed so much to this country and now you have to try to find a niche so you can provide for your family. but if you have good health and a supportive family then you have a good chance to recover.
i do have a mouse in my pocket... i work my butt off and i am old and im not in the best of health. i struggle too... just in different ways. i am very lucky because my son owns the company. if he loses it...we are all sunk...but i could live in a tent if i had to . when i go i will go with NOTHING... so all the junk ive accumulated for years and felt i HAD to have will probably go in a dumpster the week i die... nothing is really important except health and a loving family...

Jim... i understand that our govt. isnt up to par. there are alot of things wrong. Obama isnt responsible. he hasnt been in office long enough to put a dent in Americas problems..this has been coming for decades. if he has plans for something that isnt good for Americans then Americans need to let him know and if he doesnt represent us there are ways to make him... but ..... we are not using our rights...rights that our soldiers have died for...there is strength in unity...
i dont understand why we are spending gazzilions of dollars worth of equipment to see a planet that is millions of light years away. who gives a damn. i guess they are looking for a place for us to live when earth is destroyed... well duh... when the earth is destroyed whos gonna be here to go?
our local govt. is spending multi millions doing tests to see what the phosphate mines will do to impact the ecology of Horse Creek in Arcadia... duh.... we already know! when you go to Eastbay do you see that huge mountain in front of you?
Phosphate mining... in northern florida they are still trying to clean up the mess from years gone by and nothing can be grown there except palm trees. ever try to eat a palm tree?
so what are we going to do when and if the economy improves? save for the next recession? i doubt it....it will take every bit of our savings to catch up to the losses of this recession...
maybe one of the problems in America is the depressing news. there are so many good things going on and we never hear about them... pick up a newspaper and usually most of it is negative news... i listen to the news sometimes and they can hardly wait to cover a nasty murder or drugs... too much publicity for the bad guys.... i would love to see news reports about the great people in this country that do so much for humanity and ecology...
this sick kid in miami that killed 19 cats gets front page. the little twins at CCMP that have worked so hard on several fund raisers dont have one sentence!
