They can yank it from all of Nascar for all that I am concerned. Its only about money any more and your true talented drivers will still be racing Saturday nights. I hope it turns out where it be a Toyota series only. Let the Japs spend our hard earned money on it. Nascar is pretty much ruined already, let O'sama finish it off.
You know that only the bigger teams get the support from the manufacturers. This may hurt them. The little guys may be the ones that benefit a little. However, this will probably mean the big teams will be more aggressive in the sponsor hunt and that could hurt the little teams. Who knows. I can't wait to see a Fiat in NASCAR. JK
Have you seen the self-gratifying TV commercials GM has been running... How they are going to be leaner-meaner with more quality, fuel efficiency blah, blah.blah........... HOW ABOUT CHEAPER CARS PEOPLE CAN AFFORD... The major car makers have virtually priced themselves out of business... How many of you reading this board can really afford to go out and by a new vehicle... The prices are ridiculous... I could care less about heated seats, a GPS system or a mechanichal hand in the sun visor that comes down to blow my nose for me... Give me a good, solid (forget all the plastic crap), affordable car and I'll buy it along with financing that can be understood by a layman and that is reasonable... Wonder what all those UAW guys are doing now since many don't have a job... maybe they can go on strike for higher unemployment checks!!!
I thinking them guys will be trying to find another job and striking an employer isn't always about money. UAW and other unions have fought hard to give everyone a better place and change laws to help everyone not just the union people. I don't always agree with everything the union stands for but do know that they have done a lot to help the american work force.

They did alot for the American workers but they got greedy. My dad was union for nearly 40 years, the union got greedy. American Axle is pretty much shut down and moved to Mexico. Now after all these years he is unemployed.
Dave touched on something too. I had to take my truck into the dealer, while waiting I decided to look at the new ones. $47,000 for a new Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 with the diesel. That wasn't ever for the fancy one with all of the useless bs. Even if I could afford it, I would never spend that kind of money on vehicle.
Union = Mob There the number 1 reason that the car markers are having problems you can not pay people $40 a hour to bolt cars together. The car makers need to move south were people want to work.
Went and looked at a new Dodge Challenger this past weekend. Just to look, and I got sticker shock. Over $26,000 just for the base-model V6 3.6 liter (how many American cubic inches is that, anyways...? LOL), an automatic transmission, 275 horsepower. Now, add the dealer costs - plus *more* sticker shock - how 'bout over $5,000 in "eviromental incentives" such as "over 25mpg" and some other "green crap" that I couldn't understand, adds to over $31,000 for just a wimpy little base-model Challenger. The car dealer guy also told me that the "manual" transmission is no longer "standard"; it's another $1,000. Then if you want V8 power, another grand...and so on, and so on.

The new Camaro base model seels for over $25,000.
No wonder people can't buy these things.
Someone being sensible will buy an Impala or a Dodge 300.
People who want a toy buy the Challenger or Camaro and money shouldn't be an issue.
I bought my 08 Silverado 4 door last year before it became Obamalet.
$28,500 sticker and with rebates and incentives i got it for less than $22,000 and i have everything but leather, mirror turn signals (useless) and aluminum rims......................just find the RIGHT dealer and salesman.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.
owned new GM and Chrysler products but will never buy either one again unless I get it wholesale. As a taxpayer and part owner of both companies, just like all taxpayers are, I want a owner's deal.
Over the weekend cashcar said they would welcome other foreign automakers coming in.Maybe if ferrari doesn't get their way in F1 they will help cashcar out.
If Management and Labor couldn't come together and save their own job security - TOO BAD - TOO SAD...
Both sides had the opportunity to do what had to be done to lower cost, improve productivity and increase the profitability line, but failed to do so.
The one's I feel sorry for are the Dealerships (and employees) that paid for the rights to sell these cars and then being shut down without compensation.
What's the goverment gonna do for them?

Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:
I agree with Fenton that Bush and Paulson should have kept their hands out of private business instead of bailing out the banks and investment companies . But they decided to give many billions of dollars to the banks to begin the big bailout .So now precident has been set , when Bush bailed out big business , the automakers had every right to say " what about us , why don't we get what the financial institutions got , why do they get saved and we don't " . Wasn't much else that could be done except sticking with the Bush idea of bailing out companies .
With the automakers , it was a good idea though . Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost by the car companies , the State of Michigan thrown into bancruptcy because of no tax money coming in and un-employment benefits going out , truck lines , ship lines , parts manufacturers , tire manufacturers , even the oil companies who supply every new car with gas and oil , all taking a gigantic hit and folding up or laying off many more millions of people . No , i'll take the current idea and hope it works . Cause the alternative certainly wouldn't .
