laws of the land and DQ's

Didn't know that meant dq us when we do win after the race when they have seen the exact stuff before. You tell me if you think a tranny crossmember made out of tubing really made a difference? This is the problem with short track racing if someone wins they are a cheater and if anyone crys that they didn't win they want a trophy too. I will defend myself or my cars I build on being legal.
abide by laws in place , you want get arrested ,go by rulebook you won't get DQed . take it and live with it.

      I do

I will live with it just fine. There is no rule that says you have to have the stock crossmember is my point on that infraction. I don't have a problem changing it but finding one is not easy so what am I not suppose to race my car there because of that. Thought they would want Racecar's at the track. My whole point was that did not change the performance one bit.

        crossmember

at one time I had to put 25 lb's in front of flywheel. I put it inside cross member ,bad mistake did effect corner speed

Well, the best thing would be if all of the Central Florida Tracks ran the same rules.

I count 7. Seems like it would not be a big deal.

But here we are. I guess the prevailing thinking is that some tracks want to work together, and some want unique rules, presumably to capture a field of cars that is "theirs".

Either way, fair enough, it is their track, and lights, and rules. Nobody has to go to any particular track.

Soooooooo, if a racer wants to run a given track, hopefully he will take the time to learn the rules to the letter and follow them--and the track will enforce them so everyone else does the same.

The "issues" start when either a track (not Citrus necessarily, this is hypothetical) lets a fast guy "slide", or at the other end of the spectrum, changes or re-interprets rules to slow down a fast guy--even though he is legal per the rules.

BUT, car count IS the show, so it is a mutually beneficial--or mutually damaging-- deal.

A tough sport to be in, no doubt. Hopefully they get it worked out.

Just curious raced for many years up north, just a seat warmer in the stands today, but what was the other infractions found on the car? Is there a rule stating no tubular transmisson mount? Weight difference would be felt low in the car, where you want the weight, maybe warn the team that you don't want them to run at your track anymore, don't DQ them, just tell them you have enough race cars and you don't need them , their car, and their fans to support your track.

                    Lol

Stock firewall was not cut at all or even beat with a hammer one bit. So before you listen to what someone else says maybe you should check out for yourself. The very top of the firewall where the wiper motor goes was cut behind carb and that's it. I'm not trying to get into a pissing match about it, the car has been that way for 15 yrs now and no other track has ever said anything about it. If that was a problem how come the other 6 or 7 times it's been thru tech why wasn't something said then. I'm gonna fix the little crap and be back sometime to prove to the whiners it doesn't matter. We planned on racing all yr there but not after that bs happened again.

And so we still are only talking about the crossmember , there
We're "4" count' FOUR other items that failed tech on same night.
Maybe you'll say it was the red paint ! Lol

Just because someone has been able to get away with speeding on the highway for 15 years, doesn't mean they weren't violating the law....just means they finally got caught. You can't argue with black and white, it's there for everyone to see, including your team.

Get it right if you choose to come back, if you don't, then continue to speed in hopes of not getting caught for another 15 years.

When each track has it's rules for each class, it's tough to race more than one track. Citrus has decided to tech cars according to their rules. There doesn't seem to be a giant difference in rules from track to track, so maybe as time goes on, the rules will get closer together.
Citrus is the premiere race facility in the state right now, but they're new and they're trying to build a base of race cars. They've made big strides so far, and as this season progresses i think they'll have even bigger fields every week. But they have decided that a very important component of good racing is good tech. And i don't know how any racer can disagree with that approach.
I hope Justin does continue to race at Citrus. That 77 car runs like it does because of car prep and driving, not just because of trans crossmembers.

Citrus is certainly a very nice facility.

There are lots of "good" tracks right now, and in some respects, at least to some folks, each is "best".

Equally true is that in some respects, at least to some folks, each have room for improvement.

                              Citrus County Speedway

[QUOTE=OldSchool+;173473]Well, the best thing would be if all of the Central Florida Tracks ran the same rules.

Ding.Ding.Ding. You are the winner. If the five or 6 tracks here in Central Florida pulled their heads out of their asses, and each track didn't manipulate the rules for whatever reason the racing world would benefit. I Do not know the gentlemen or his car in this thread but I do know that Citrus is out on their own island with the modifieds. This is why I say this.

                              1. They deemed a steering quickner illegal. The same steering quickners that racers have been using for years so that you can run a stock 16 to 1 box instead of a much more expensive racing box. The tech man raced with one for years.

                              2. They have isolated the Ford lowers because they simply don't understand how people were using them to bend the rules with a Camaro front clip.......Not a big impala clip a Camaro clip....two different animals.

                              3. They will no longer let you weld your ball joints in the lower control arm. We do this for two things. One being clearance and the other being able to screw a new one in a weld in insert so that it can be quickly fixed at the track.

                              4. No billet pitman arms and no adjustable idlers. lol. Ever tried bumping a stock clip car for racing ? you better get all the mixed matched parts just right or you may be bending your tie rods to get what you want. And slotting you stock idler arm

                              5. And then finally......And I can honestly say that I like this one but its probably not good for our class is that they are giving the stock clip cars a weight advantage and left side advantage.

Citrus County Speedway is a great establishment and I love the new racing surface. unfortunately they have isolated many Modifieds and sadly only running 6 or 7 races all year long.

                                Ding ding ding

Dang openwm53 your about then only one that kinda gets what I'm saying. The class is gonna end up just like the mods with no one supporting it because of stupid crap in the tech shed. The place is awesome to race on and is prob my favorite in fl by far. Also never heard back from Cameron after leaving voicemail. Also idk where the 5 infractions came from but was only told about 3 things that led to the dq which were transmission crossmember which it doesn't stat anywhere it has to be stock, center link which is actually stock for the car and have plenty of info to prove it is, and motor location which I have a stock frame with stock motors mounts still on it to prove the motor is in stock location, because just telling me you can tell doesn't not cut it. If Cameron doesn't want to talk or realize they were wrong that's fine we can go somewhere else but from the looks of it, it doesn't look like he should be running cars off just like he did to the mods. Shawn whoever you are do you race in the pure stocks or no and I have pics of my firewall that has not been moved since you think it is.
