  • Citrus county pure stock race issues !!!!!!

Nice track conditions, fair crowd for cooler weather and monster truck event down in Tampa going on at same time.
REALLY POOR- the fact that there was lower car counts in all but the Pure Stock division ( over 25 + cars ) in that 50 lap feature. The #77 car checked out on the others but several ... DQ issues in tech showed reasons and that was only the surface, didn't even get a chance to look INSIDE the motor ! Crate motor my ass ! The bigger issue I guess is AFTER cars ran the full 50 laps, had bought track fuel and tires were not told in a announcement or meeting they were cutting the pay off . The eventual winner #58 got 300.00 for winning that race . Really are you serious ,you tell all classs including pure stocks AT the PAYOFF window ,sorry the crowd was light and we have bills to meet so we had to cut the purse. That's a very good way to chase cars away and trust me it did .

so file a lawsuit against the track . these tracks that think it is okay to not tell anyone, get the drivers and car owners to spend their money to put on a show for the track to make money and then not pay is a crime.

unless they issue a payout list based on car count for all to see they need to payout. if they got to reach in their own pocket, well that is the cost of running a race track, suck it up and PAY. Like they all want to tell the drivers to stop whining and race, support the track..

    2 way street!!!

That 77 was bad fast. Seen he was dq'd for a piece of square tubing for a transmission cross member....that didnt slow it down tho. If its got a crate motor its a good one.

This is "fake news". Larry Welter, Jr WAS paid $600 for winning the 50 lap Pure Stock feature. Fan attendance was very good and business at the concession stands was brisk all night long. It was a satisfying opening night by anyone's standards. Don't know where this person got his information, but it is inaccurate. Goes to show you just can't always believe what you hear or read.

            Payout

My error 600.90 is correct , thought the original purse was 1500 or so to win

              Where was that Advertised

No one I have talked to seen where a purse of $1500 was advertised.
$600 for a Asphalt Purestock is good money, you won't see that at any other Florida asphalt track.

Yes. A misinformed poster just put the post on here without checkng the accuracy of what he was posting. It would be nice if people checked out the facts first rather than go ahead and defame a track.

                      Ya

Ya hired gun can't believe it's a crate 😂😂. Looks like someone was posting facts that are not true not only about the payout but about the 77 car also.

Anytime you want the facts you can always contact Citrus County Speedway Race Director, Camron Ray. His contact phone number and email address are available on the speedway website: www.citruscountyspeedwayandtrack.com.

As we found out in this thread it is very easy to get out bogus information. The winner of the 50 lap Pure Stock feature was paid $600 for his win.

There was more than one rule violation that lead to the DQ of the #77 Pure Stock. Actually there were five violations. Check with Camron and he'll gladly let you know precisely what the infractions were.

                          Lol

5 infractions that don't change how the car performs. We changed what the tech guy said too and then he changed his mind on it after we showed up. These are Racecar's not enduro cars also. I totally understand the rules but dqs are over crap that doesn't matter performance wise and they have the rules that can be read anyway they want for who ever the person is that wins. Idk how many times they can look at a car and then when they win they get dqed. Everything we got dqed for was the same crap that the tech has seen several times from front to back. When I get back into town I will call Cameron if he will answer. I just hate to see such stupid crap happen cuz that will cause car counts to drop just like the mods did last yr.

From the "That nitrous bottle was almost empty anyways" Department....

Man, I sure wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone claim (after they got caught illegal) that whatever was illegal did not make the car go any faster. "No sir, Mr. Tech Man....the guy we bought the motor from musta put that 37lb crank in there...we sure didn't know nothin' about it!"

If indeed that were the case, and none of those items produced zero performance gains....then why bother with being illegal in the first place? SMH.

Take yer lumps, get your stuff right and live to race another day.

                              Yep

Ya I don't know what I'm talking about. These are 40 yr old cars and we have raced this car for 15 yrs exactly like that at Speedworld and Smyrna been teched so many times. But at citrus there is a very fine comb on the rules. Cameron is the one that said bring our cars and they will work with us known that the rules are a little diff from track to track. Didn't know that meant dq us when we do win after the race when they have seen the exact stuff before. You tell me if you think a tranny crossmember made out of tubing really made a difference? This is the problem with short track racing if someone wins they are a cheater and if anyone crys that they didn't win they want a trophy too. I will defend myself or my cars I build on being legal.
