Motorsport in general is still doing very well with drifting, drag racing, road racing, and lapping. Just the stock car part of it is suffering. On pavement it's worst. Dirt in general is still doing pretty good. That is why you see more and more multi functions Motorsports Parks these days.
The Pay to Play system. People come in, pay a fee, have fun all day with the toy of their choice, and then, majority of the time, drive it back home. No rules, no truck, no trailer, no crew, next to no tools. Just you and the toy.
That same toy, they can use for drag, drift, lapping and to some extend, road racing. And use it to go to work on Monday and to grocery store on Thursday after work. What's not to like?
In the last ten years I have started my roll cage business, I build 10 roll cages for drift/drag/lapping car for one stock car.
There is nothing you or me can do about it. That is the way it is.
But this does not means a well run stock car track cannot have successes, because many still have, even if many fail.
