DJ tells me that the tire would not take any abuse and he was reluctant to try the outside as he rode around behind the 54 car. He try several time to get under him in turn 3 put had to back off and let the tire get back under the car. We had 40% of the tread left after the race put will not try to run these tires again. Will give it one more try and see how they handle a shorter race. We did have to change the car quite a bit on Friday to make the car handle. During practice on tires purchased last month with 50 laps of practice on them we saw a dramatic dropoff after 4 laps in practice of over 4 tenths every time we went out. I hope this information helps.

So, only 15 drivers were "invited?"... or did many turn down the invitation? Still a pretty good quality field for these days and times...

Congrats to my buddy Devin McLeod! A top notch racer all the way and someone for the kids coming up in the sport to use as a good role model...

More were invited. More had accepted prior. The race was rescheduled from January. May have played a role. Good race though. People who want to find fault will and have. Nothing you can do about that.

they said invite only if you had been racing at other tracks top 10 in points but I seen guys there that have not raced in awhile so they did not stick to that .

With all due respect, you are giving incorrect information. The top 10 at each track were issued invitations first, then it was opened up after those invites had cycled through. Go back and reference the Desoto Facebook page and you will see this.

Tech.

I was told that tech only weighed them and checked the shocks? Did they change their shock rule to steel only ? Did they perform and pre tech ? Anyone know the truth ?

Tech was weight and frame heights, pre tech was weight, frame heights and check for steel in the shocks and I think they checks the rear bars for steel with a magnetic.

This was not a impound race and everyone could due anything they want to the tires, they where not checked. This should have been a impound race with it being a big money race.

My opinion on the AR tires.

My tires were good for all 100 laps. With that being said, my car was handling very well. I was nervous once I got spun out that I would have lost all life on my RR tire (like usually happens on Hoosiers) but they were surprisingly still really good. As for the price of the tires....they were still $500 for a set.
