Here's the updated list of the "Q Bonus" races for the 6-6-15 Desoto Challenge

It made a difference to me long ago, and maybe to you moving forward.

Who really cares which tire Yoho runs, or what "Q-bonus" pays, especially if it does not impact us personally? It is their deal and they are gonna do what they are gonna do.

What matters is that you can state your opinion and be okay with whatever happens after that.

Back in the day, I had a bud and we had a saying, "The Truth, no matter who it hurts!" (sound familiar?).

We gave it up because eventually it occurred to us that it was always...us.

99% of what I mention is pure fact. My opinion is that you guys really need to pull your heads out of the sand, and stop making excuses for the failures and start focusing on the problem and fix it. Scott and I have both gone over numerous points of issue, yet you guys sit and try to justify every little thing as to why you don't have to change anything cause what you have is "working"...

Guess what... It's not working. It hasn't worked there in a long time, and it's only going to get worse. If you don't bring your community together and unify, then in 10 years, you will be lucky to have any operational tracks at all. Mark my word

I'm done trying to bring up points that are seen and suggest ideas to try to bring things together in a positive manner. I have ZERO vested interest in FL racing other than the fact that I lived there for 13 years and grew to love the tracks there. I came here after seeing how different things were here when I moved back motivated to help and find a way to repair what is broken and move Florida forward in a good way. Your resistance is pure ignorance to the fact that there is a major problem with the sport down there.

Phil, you do realize though that the majority of the people arguing, the only wheel they turn is the one on their personal vehicle. They are in the stands eating hot dogs, and God bless them for that. Racing needs fans. But the people on here in the pits spending hard earned money to race, they may not be talking, but you know damn well they are listening.

Honest question. Bobby worked hard to put together the truck race at Desoto, and it was the largest field in a very very long time. Not only that, but it was well run and cleanly contested. All of those trucks could have raced the next day it was so clean. So question is, isn't that worth a little attention? Don't ever underestimate the man. He has passion for the sport that is sorely lacking.

I own the Protruck that finished 12 and didn't get the bonus money. I'm not even remotely upset about it. Q and the series is doing their best to give back to the racers... Those last place finishers paid to get in, bought tires and fuel and deserve every little bit they can get back in their pocket. No one on this level of the playing field is going to make money but every little bit helps. Hats off to the series for making these things happen

I only wish his promoting was more professional and less circus like. Proper spelling and grammar. No colorful fonts on a messageboard and one thread for each event. Save the whoop dee doo's and crayon box of colors for event flyers. Look at OSW's dragstrip for quality promotional flyers, they do it with style.

Phil,before moving here in 1994,I raced at dirt tracks in upstate NY.I even kept my car with plans to bring it down after I settled.Much like WEFTRACING96,boy was I in for a some culture shock,so much that I sold everything and didn't attend another dirt track race down here until 2011....The dirt tracks up north are filled with passionate racers,race families,crew members,and fans...I have attended asphalt races at Danbury,Stafford,Waterford,and Thompson.The asphalt tracks in the New England area share that same passion.
Walk the pits or sit in the stands down here and you quickly find out that asphalt racing simply does not share the same passion as it does in the northeast.Good,bad,or indifferent,combine that with the laid back southern culture style of doing things (don't mean that in a bad way lol) and you end up at the end of the long line of people from up north who want to change things,for better or worse,,,,Aint gonna happen bro.

My good friend, mentor and former boss, Darrell Frye, Jr... Some may know the name, told me a long time ago that there was a point in the late 80s and early 90s, where a switch seemingly flipped. The mood really changed about FL racing. I was not in FL at that point, but I can only assume that when this happened, the passion went with it. I look at pictures from back in the 60s, 70s and 80s and I see full fields and fist pumping fans in the stands. Maybe the older crowd can corroborate this theory a bit, but in my eyes, the "ain't gonna happen" mentality is what is holding FL back right now. It CAN happen. Anything can if you want it to and you're willing to work for it... Ask me how I know...
