There are few slouches in the mod class. From car construction to driver they are high end.
The fast guys are not pulling their heads for folks to measure the bore, but generally, when I say/think "big motor", I think "big money motor". As you are perhaps aware, Dart and probably others manufacture blocks that allow 427 cubic inch and probably up "small" blocks.

Jason Boyd comes from an engine building family, I believe. There was no lack of anything under his hood, and it is what primarily allowed him to drive off into the sunset that evening.
