Doug, you may find it reassuring that in Devin's race report from Adale that his qualifying time on the R750 was FASTER than the last time he was there on the F53.

Man, I don't want to even open up this can of worms. But just like Sportsman, OWM have the right to be on the tire they want to be on. There is a new Hoosier slick that, imo, has to be made of the same "super rubber" that the R750 is comprised of. It was tested at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT (fairly flat fast half mile) on 3000 lb Sportsman-type cars. According to Philthy Phil it supposedly didn't fall off after hundreds of laps (Philthy can volunteer more data). It is called.....wait for it.....the Hoosier 2040. Maybe this tire can be the happy medium for everyone. An 8" slick with a ton of bite but the longevity the low buckers and tracks want. Is it the answer? I dunno. Am I just creating more sh*t? Not trying to. But the best decisions are made with the most thorough information. Maybe you guys should ask about it, Doug.

If the whole state in on the 750 except 1 track, that's not too bad. Especially considering that nobody seems to have anything really negative to say about the tire. If the F53 isn't being produced, then you can't do much about that. Btw Scott, looking forward to meeting you next week. Should be a good show. I like Sportsmans a lot. I'll come say hi when I get there. I will be a little late bc I have work that day.

Funny how things work out, sometimes!

"Maybe letting it go is the best & cheapest strategy?"--OS

          "If you mean quitting..."--OWM53

Just wrapped my head around your remark, as that is for sure not what I meant.

Simply, let the tire thing go, you are racing a modified, man! Relatively speaking, the tire thing is small change.

No, it isn't the answer. An 8" tire is barely enough for a pure stock. Now a tire that doesn't fall of after hundreds of laps, and comes in 12", or better yet 14" width, that's the tire for the OWMs.

Yes, for northern tour type and SK mods. Def not FL Mods. Do you want big motor guys to just run away from the field? This is where you show ignorance. Just bc you like to see big tires doesn't mean they are what's best.

There's plenty of cyberspace here...you guys trashed the original thread...very discourteous. Please reconsider the next time you think of something off topic to think about.

I will be home next week and im going to see yoho directly.......if he thinks that he has an up on other tracks....well I bet he will look into being the only track that the mods are on slicks..........and he will get the biggest car counts...and he is already paying the biggest purses....and I think I will help support the class........dig up some sponsorship....put out some incentives....think outside the box until every other track goes back to the slick to get the car counts............hmmmm. Instead of bitching maybe be pro active ?? thanks for the insight on the slick.........calling Jay the tire man tomorrow.

Them " big motor cars " are going to run away from the field no matter what tires you run. They always do. The Liberal view is that every racer should get a chance to win, that the successful racers should be slowed down so everyone has a chance. Re-distribution of trophies you might say. But that's not true racing.

I'm not even responding to your posts anymore. I think being new, I had to get to that point, but most others have already gotten there. So I'm there now. You have proven repeatedly you don't know your ass from your elbow when it comes to racing, so why give someone like you the audience you so desire?

Doug, I completely respect you position and opinion. Just speaking for my position, I would be much more willing, and even excited, to travel to tracks that are far from me if the rules were the same for big expense items like tires. I would love to rotate the tracks I race on, but I can't afford to buy tires for a track I may only run a couple times a year.

Weft, you got it pretty quickly, hopefully others will get it soon.
