Whatever else is going on, it is clear that Bobby is a good sport with a positive attitude, answers difficult posts in a positive fashion, and is trying to get both MORE racers and MORE fans to the track. That is, he is walking the walk.

Congrats on getting your font back, Bobby!

I live here, i go to the track almost every week, and i can't remember seeing any of your PR work yet. When Jimmy and Critter rebuilt this track, they were on tv and in the newspaper almost every week. That's what reaches new fans.
Making announcements to race fans about going to KARNAC will certainly boost the KARNAC stats, but isn't going to reach the people who weren't at the races, is it?
Burning up your cell phone minutes talking to racers is a fine idea, but i would think that if they were interested in racing, they'd be at a track already. If your phone calls are the single reason racers are coming back out to the track, then good on ya mate.
By the way, please keep us informed of all of your live displays. Are there live displays that don't include the trucks?

I have three rolling bill boards that you will see about the Tampa Bay area, Bradenton, Sarasota, etc.... I have a Super Late Model that will also be out in the REAL WORLD. So come out an help be part of the solution. We would all benefit. You are great at pointing out things to do or not to do. My Challenge to you is HELP us!!!!!

What was Johnny Allens' answer? Please post photos of those rolling billboards. Glad to hear you have a Super, who's car is it and where and when is it going to be on display?

Let's take a vote... Who under 35 here still gets a newspaper to their house? None? That's what I thought... I haven't gotten a newspaper at any residence of mine in probably 15 years... That type of media is old news...

Drive Time (7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm) radio and strategically placed fliers in high traffic areas and places where the younger crowds hang out or gather is probably about the best way to advertise these days if you are going to do it outside of Social Media...

                Excellent thought, Phil, ironically enough.

                I need His help daily.

A few donuts in the late model in downtown Bradenton ought to make the six o'clock news.

Make sure the name over the door is Bobby Dielhl!

He's not bashing, just critiquing... Big Blue brings it upon himself with his "style"... the winged devil

BTW, IMHO most folks here do support and promote by attendance...that's all they have to do...they are spending their hard earned money... not trying to be the guy to make money.

Well Chuck, since you know i'm ALWAYS on here questioning Bobby, then you must have seen my posts answering that very question.
I could be wrong, but it looks to me like Bobby is mostly promoting Bobby. And it looks to me as though the majority of that promoting is taking place on KARNAC. This is the gold standard site for Florida racing news and info, but if you aren't already a racing fan, you wouldn't know KARNAC exists. And that's who we need to get to. " Bring your graduating high school student to the races and get them in free " doesn't bring anyone new thru the injectors. If the parents are on here already to see that notice, then it's likely their high school grads already knew about Desoto Speedway and were fans, or weren't interested.
Go to the High Schools and Vocational Schools and put a FREE ticket in EVERY students hand. Make sure they also have a brochure explaining what short track racing is, the classes, and photos of the various cars, and a detailed map of where the track is. Make sure you have at least 3 nicely painted and lettered cars in front of the school all day so the students can get a close up look. Start the engines every now and then. Do a burnout after school or at lunch.
Find local eateries that are interested in promoting racing. Get them to sponsor a class or a billboard, or a fast time award or something. But more important, have them also hand out free admission tickets to the races with each purchase of a particular item or meal.
Those are the people you're trying to reach.
I still get the newspaper and always will. And i'm not the only one. It's another way to get people interested.

The free tickets handed out should also look and feel important. Could even be done to look like a nascar pit pass, but for Desoto Speedway general admission. Hell, maybe even throw in a lanyard so they can wear it around their neck, just like big time racing. Something the recipients are going to remember to use, not business card size quick print in 1 color on the cheapest paper possible. Those get forgotten about and tossed out pretty easily. Add in a walk thru pit tour and a free coke, you've got your new fan.
Costly? Maybe, maybe not. Here's the chance for a track to get a printing company on board as a sponsor. Trade the free pass printing for a billboard. And the track already has a soft drink sponsor who could spring for the free drinks.

Matt that sounds like a lot of work. That's for a bussiness that wants to be profitable.
