Hey, we all got skeletons in the closet.

Some of us have been Forgiven and try to do better.

    Others...don't.

The jury is out on Kurt.

As usual, ol NASCAR kinda jumped the gun there. I'm sure there will be an apology issued to Kurt, his sponsors, his team, and his fans by NASCAR LOL.
Since Chevrolet dropped him, i wonder if they'll change their mind.

This is getting old. The Duke lacrosse team, Jameis Winston and Kurt Busch. What a magnificent way to get money and/or revenge. In all 3 cases there was never any attempt to prosecute. Not even an attempt to plea bargain. There is significant money in all three cases. The Duke boys all came from wee to do families. Jameis will have pot of gold shortly. Kurt has substantial financial recourses. Kurt is at the highest risk as he will in all likelihood lose sponsors which translates into rides as well. Three common denominators here Money no prosecution and sadly no recourse. A new definition of justice.

Nascar has already handed down punishment for his crime and i am sure they will uphold it.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

BTW, he will not be charged...

BUT he is suspended...somebody (not meaning Kurt) doesn't look too smart here...

Who ever said the world was fair?

You guys do realize how mega rich Gene Haas is? Google his name and legal problems and do a little reading and you'll see he's had a little controversy, I don't think he's gonna bail out on Kurt and he's the only one that really matters. Nascar did what the PR dep't or lawyers thought they had to do in case it went the other way and now they'll reinstate him. I'd bet money he races next week and then later they'll make him chase eligible.

I feel it made me dislike him a little less. What dude here hasn't had some, since this is a PG site, less-than-sane-girlfriend. I'm sure there is probably some truth in her story, and Kurt is no Saint, but if everyone wears a white hat it's pretty vanilla...and boring.
                  Go Kurt!

                    Lurkin,

I understand precisely where you are coming from...

But there are enough cases of actual abuse--or worse--to keep the fires of panic burning, and the need to do "something".

In reality, per capita, they are quite small.

IMO, in erring on the side of safety, the pendulum has swung too far, and in all too many cases "justice" is completely beside the point.

I don't mind that they took her allegations seriously, I raised two daughters as a single dad and I'd gladly hang his ass if it was true. But there is no smoking gun, in fact there's nothing except a nervous sanctioning body afraid of the media..and I can't blame them for being nervous.

Indeed, and you just named both sides of a tough decision.

But indeed both sides should be considered and if there is no evidence...

Sadly neither Kurt or Nascar have any recourse and these unprosectable situation can and do cost the sport current sponsors and an untold number of potential sponsors especially companies whose products are dependant on sales to the female population. In the other sports the victim is usually the falsely accused in racing the victim is the entire sport.

As ESPN's Ryan Magee pointed out, Kurt is being punished by Nascar for more than this incident. The Nascar rule he broke is, " Actions detrimental to stock car racing. All through his career he has done things that Nascar deems as detrimental, although it probably helped ticket sales.

Nascar says that same statement in every case.

Does that " actions detrimental to to stock car racing " apply to Brian France and his merry men at NASCAR? Let's hope so, they could all be banned for life.
