If you don't live in Florida, or own a race car in Florida, you can't have an opinion about the racing in Florida. Buying a ticket and sitting in the stands doesn't qualify you.
And if you're not a Congressman or Senator, you can't have an opinion on President Obama or the Congress. Just voting for them doesn't qualify you.

This article actually mentions one of the reasons that OSW has never been wildly popular and never will be. LOCATION.

This track is in a bad spot. I've always thought it was just kind of an out of the way place, even the 2 years I lived IN Orlando, it was easier to go an extra 20 minutes and shoot up to NSS or out to Citrus or something and I was almost certain to see a better show too.

Earlier in 2014, when Donnie was running weekly shows, the car counts were on par with other tracks and in some cases, better. The results page doesn't lie.
oh phil not a good ideal to post this . lets break it down. this article was the was a opinion of another racer. didn't the writer of this come out osw and drive somebody's strictly stock and crash it ? well any way if you read this it is funny how Rex stop. and gazed up into the stands and only saw less then 200 people scattered out thought the stand at a cost of 10.00 to get in and 25.00 in the pits. actually 20.00 if you had a license. now lets fast forward to 2014 Rex stops on the track and gazes into the stands he see less then 10 people and now the cost is 12,00 to get in the front gate and the pits is 30.00 WOW WEEEE great comparison. and videos you posted one was on a Saturday after race season. you notice it was light out . something they were trying during the winter and they never worked out nice try anything else?

          Phil,

I think Matt was being facetious...

Why did they stop running them, then...?

I don't care who it was written by, facts are facts. You have nothing but "back in the 70s" and finger pointing to support you.

JULY is not after the season...

Oh and for comparison on your prices, how about going on over to the Desoto and Citrus pages and note that their pit fee is $30, and their Grandstand fee is $13... NEXT ARGUMENT PLEASE!!!

            Man I love this lol

I know Matt was, I was being too. I think Matt would know that and if he doesn't now he does lol I got no problem with Matt.

Donnie stopped because they were losing money. It was a business decision and nothing more. No business can operate when it's in the red on a weekly basis. It's not going to ever last that way. He intended on continuing with a different strategy but the weather was consistently crap on race nights plus he could not get the funding needed to do what he wanted so he pulled the plug. I spend countless hours daily texting with him, and I can assure you he actually DOES want oval racing, he finds it entertaining. Just trying to figure out the right package and as I said, he hopes this event on the 29th will shed some light on a direction and help. If he had more help from Ozzy in this matter, it would be much easier for him.

                It seems like...

All of this is neither here nor there.

What is needed is a Promoter that loves Stock Car Racing with deep pockets.

Like, you know, car owners with deep pockets.

Ozzy has the pockets, but not the interest.

Maybe he could sub-let or hold a mortgage (as the case may be) to an interested Promoter. That way his revenue issue would be permanently fixed.

Otherwise, I do not see the efforts of racers that are barely above water or apathetic fans (excepting...two) making a big difference.

Maybe they can sell hot pockets & rice at the concession stand for the upcoming event?

"Donnie stopped because they were losing money."--Philepe'

So much for "support your track (like the SCCA boys) at the back gate" (no offense Joe).

                  It does not work.

With both front and rear 'jectors pumping away (!) there wasn't enough jack to turn a profit.

NOPE, as mentioned, it will take the right guy with the right wallet to make it work. It takes money to make money, as they say.

Maybe D Nerone will hit the lottery!

OSW needs someone like Bruce Bemer, the man who just bought the Waterford Speedbowl here in CT... Bought the place CASH and can afford to lose some money while getting the place back up to par (not that the Bowl ever had those problems, you have seen the car counts and crowds from SidsView Videos)

                    THAT is what OSW needs.

I never questioned anything dude I simply pointed out your comparison was flawed just like the rest of your arguments. Go crawl back in the hole you came out of.
