    Racing's version of Snowbirds.

Although they claimed Florida as home, they spent majority of each year up North. They each have over 25 years of northern Modified careers. Nerone must have been heavy on the bottle for 20 of those years to claim that Buzzie only ran up there a 'couple of years.

Then again, FACTS don't phase Don one bit. He reminds me of Romney..... "I won't let facts get in the way of this campaign"

Rocky Fisher's 1977 and 1978 winter schedules were non-winged events.

1985....... WITH a wing, AT a Florida track...... you need more proof? I've got it....

Grow a set of nuggets, admit you are wrong.

But I realize that won't happen. You never are, and never have been wrong..... even with photographic proof that you are.
          Twist it up jerry
I though we were talking about TBARA...Tampa Bay Sprint Racing Ass
not some out law race near Cuba.
Beasdes thost are very old pic. Those aren't much of a wing
They didn't even call them sprints down here back then. They did run wings on some cars in the 60s at goldengate with wings but I was talking about after u were in school
You do have me on the last pic #11 ? the only one that I knew down here was the Cambell car. Im sure someone will clear that up.

"Bob Luscomb [raced a sprint car] at Hollywood Miami Speedway in 1975"--Frasson

I had a tranny rebuilt by Bob--or more accurately, his son, who also raced sprint cars some, around 1990.

In what seemed kind of bizzare, they had a shop in the same location since the early '50s, and jacked the cars up with floor jacks and pulled the trannys & slid them out from underneath.

Bob seemed elderly at that time, as I recall.

I have some old pic of my car with a wing and i lived in fl so jerry must be right.
Like rolling in the mud with a pig....he likes it.

The point was that the wings were left on the sprints after there change back from dirt in the late 80s.
Im sure someone had a wing of some type on there car many years ago.

I did not go to south Fl racing when I was a kid.
Did watch sprint races in the earley 60s at Saramana and sunshine and they didn't have wings then.
I am a centerial fa race fan and could give a rats @ss what happened in NY in 1950.
Jerry is a great promoter of a show for those people and draws a grear croud of 100 or so for free food and I have to listen to his rants.
on the other hand what would he do with his time if I wasent here..lol

Jerry I got a set. any time you want to see them let me know..

First and foremost thank God Jerry does what he does every year . It is the perfect time and venue for the heroes of the past that are fortunate enough to be able to participate and share the history of our great sport. North South, mox nix, our guys went north in the summer and their guys came south in the winter. While Don doesn't have to live with your rants he does have to live with the fact that he too is a part of the fabric of our racing history. As for wings and when they appeared the truth is real racing took a step backwards when it occurred. Just like the wings, the coupes and coaches went away when the modifieds figured out how to create aerodynamics through the body work. I still love the coupes and coaches the same way a sprint or midget is beautiful sans a wing. Time for supper I will shut up.
