His base Salary is 52000 then. You can not include OT because it's not guaranteed. If I include my OT which is on average 15hrs/wk then I technically make $70k also... Soooo lol!!!

And as for his $26,000 yr down there... Likely based on experience at the time.

The others need to find out what it takes to get more fannies in the stands before they can be considered. Namely advertising. .
And in other news,in only their 2nd year under new management Volusia County Speedway saw 102 cars pack the pits in front of a large crowd...Even with a rain delay,6 classes ran 16 heat races and 6 features with plenty of 3 wide action, including a dash for cash for their entry division with a purse of $800+ on top of their $750 to win Metric Monte feature! In the modified race,73 year old fan favorite Buzzie Ruetimann worked his way to the front and claimed the win in front of the cheering crowd, followed by an action packed limited late model and late model features.

And such is the conundrum. Dirt tracks (Volusia, East Bay, Bubba and N. Florida) seem like they are doing A-Ok. I live in the bay area and see and hear ZERO ads for East Bay, yet anytime I go there the crowd and car counts are very healthy. Kendo, does Volusia do a lot of advertising over there?

I-88 rained out the Crazy 8's last night so they're running tonight. A WoO sprint show did at Fulton, NY last night. Tonight I-88 is running and Brewerton, NY is also running modifieds. Friday Saturday and Sunday there are weekly shows, so Monday might be the first night in at least 8 days the won't be any racing in the state of New York. Unless I missed a race, maybe it's more than 8 in a row. So I just don't buy the idea that northerners are starved for racing.

"I am the guy you said is contributing to the problem because I have a Metric Monte."--Kendo

Actually makes you "the man" in my book. Maybe not a late model, but not a RC car, not a go cart, and it is yours.

Must be the show then. I've always been an asphalt guy but have to admit the racing is usually more competitive any time I go to a dirt race. Good racing usually draws crowds. I guess on the competitors side the good purses combined with the fact that tires last waaaaaay longer on dirt is the answer for the good car counts.

I agree...I grew up watching asphalt racing and was fortunate to see the good old days.Didnt attend a dirt race until I was 25...

Your suggestion about the tire deal is a good one.

Thanks Kendo. We start tire testing soon. Four races in real competition with every run on the tires being documented. In car timing system will record laps. The performance against the sticky tires is not what's important (even though I think it will be competitive). What is important is how the lap times hold up race after race. No games will be played. Tires will be impounded after every race. The proof will be in the data. Stay tuned.

Here's my take on mid week show.

1st and foremost, it has to b a real, entertaining, action packed show. And if it is, then it doesn't matter if it is Saturday night in Tampa Bay area, Mid Day Sunday in Daytona, or Tuesday Night on a man made island in the middle of Lake Okeechobee, the place will be pack. But 1st, it has to be a show.

People will always pay good money for the right entertainment, this is a human need. And the one that can provide it will be successfull, being North, South, East, West, or anywhere in between.

And that is valid for racing or any other fans drawing entertainment events.

                              Florida

Florida, for what ever reason is struggling to get fans for Sat. Night shows. I do not see any advantage to every having a mid week show in Florida.

                              Just my opinion, Vince

                                Vince.... that's the point....
Nobody gets a good Saturday night crowd, because every track wants a SATURDAY night crowd.
                                Nobody tries anything different.

The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over, yet expecting a different result.
