Kendo,
The intent was mostly a rhetorical "what if"...
But, perhaps the occasional promoter peruses this site, if only for laughs.
Annnnnd, outside of special shows and the lower classes, car count at the weekly shows for late models, sprint cars, in some cases modifieds and sportsman all seem to be less than "the good old days".
As does the competition and crowd count (of course there are exceptions...).
From what I recall, back in the '60s, there were still rules differences from track to track (read promoter to promoter). In the late 80's it was the same--travel to another track, you better bring at least tire money.
I can recall a team I was familiar with having to buying four tires, change ride height, and wheelbase to race with identical looking cars.
Perhaps some things never change.
The thought (flawed, no doubt) was--how to build a cheaper late model (or ??) with better competition that will draw bigger crowds.
