      Claiming or crushing?

Claiming someone's car for 500.00 for "suspected cheating" is obsurd! If the object of having the class is to bring new people to the track as drivers /crew / fans, then don't do things to push them away. The average person can hardly afford to build one car for the season, never mind two. Picking a car to crush is just as stupid, even if the track pays for the car. Who will pay for the time spent building another one, or the money lost at the back gate because the driver and crew don't show until the new car is done. If they even decide to return.
The class pays no money and the $10 trophy is way less than the cost of trying to get it. A better solution might be to confiscate the "suspected" parts and give back the car. At the end of the year sell the parts for scrap and award the money to the top driver, based on points / wins / whatever.
With car counts down in most classes, let's not try to find a way to mess this one up also.
