    Good points Scott.....

No offense taken. Drag racing on TV, or even most 'local' type events, doesn't have the 'rush' of seeing it done in person. I didn't have any resoect for that type of racing until I saw my first Top Fuelers and Funny Cars.

In fact Scott.... I'll buy your ticket if you'll meet us in Gainesville for the Gator Nationals in March. I think you'd be amazed (assuming Youd never gone before, and hadnt already been exposed to it). It's a wild show...!!!

I'll concede that one to ya Jerry! I have been to the Gatornationals once and the sheer ground-quaking power of Top Fuel and Funny Cars is truly amazing and should be experienced by any fan of Motorsports at least once in their lifetime. If feeling the power of those cars shake the ground doesn't get your adrenaline going you are probably dead. And if I offended any fans of drag racing, I'll give you this. Just about every NASCAR Cup event on T.V. (except for a few) literally put me to sleep.

the cost of building and up keep on a drag car is nothing compared to a circle track car the chances of a drag car crashing is a lot less how often do they have to replace tires or fix body damage so there's a big difference and I am talking about your every weekend drag racer that show up out there . most of them on a regular drag night drive their cars to the track .

Tires depend on how fast the car is just like a SLM the faster it goes the more often you need tires. As for crashing you may race forever with the same car but if you drive a tube car ( dragster or a full body car with a tube chassis) pipe loses its strength after a period of time. Then you come to the drive train aluminum rods. heads, and even blocks need to be replaced or repaired weight is death to a drag car a motor in a drag car needs to be refreshed regularly because it is run to maximum RPM every pass it makes. Transmissions take a beating in a drag car should be freshened up at least once a year torque convertors the same. Lets face it racing ain't cheap whether you run in a circle a straight line in the sand or mud or in the water you play you pay.

You're right.... a lot of cars for a regular Saturday night show at the strip have plenty of people who drive their cars there. BUT, they still pay-to-play, and none of them expect a dime in return.

Your cost, to run your car, isn't a concern to him. Making a PROFIT, making the lease payment, keep from digging in his own pocket to keep things going..... THOSE are his concerns.

It's just a shame that the oval track is looked at as the gamble, while the strip is almost a guaranteed winner at bank deposit time.

I *really* wanna move back to Florida, but need some $$$....
If you really need money or let's say job, it's fine to relocate. According to Statistics in searching for work, serious job hunters may have to consider relocating and shows that 77 percent of those who do so are glad they did. You just need to find a job back at Florida. So where is the best and worst place to live when looking for a job? Here's a list and find out if you are located in the right or wrong city.

                    Track Trash

Yeah that was us throwing a big gulp out the window. After just being told we could stay and watch the "big show" and also being told that we would only be paid half the purse, things boiled over. Dumb move on our part? Yeah, but an example of how frustrated people are about that place? Certainly. If they are going to pay out based on how many people are there, they should change the payout list to "TBA". It's all water under the bridge now. No sense in trying or hoping for change. It is what it is and racers/fans will have to deal with it as they see fit.

ok Boneman well why dont"t you go in and take Don out and add Ozzy in I think it would be great or maybe make a new one with ozzy in it . And Scott I couldn"T agree with you more about all the BS that was told by them in that first meeting the only inprovements that were done was the paint and fixing the ramp to the track that was it . remember when people said it couldn"T get worse well it did .

Did Ozzy give anybody a date of completion ? How many managers has he hired that either didn't show up or failed quickly for a number of different reasons ? Correct me if I'm wrong, but THREE so far not counting replacing Butch and Barbara. They did the best for OSW in recent memory but Ozzy made many personnel changes at the drag strip and oval when he got the keys. He struck gold with Wade at the drag strip but has struck out at the oval.

I don't blame Ozzy at all if he only runs special events at the oval track. If the select few would look at the big picture and quit blaming Ozzy because of your emotional attraction to the track, you might get it.

Ozzy got into the oval track blind. Definitely a mistake he realizes now. He didn't even know the track seeped water after heavy rains.

Bashing him will not help your cause. You guys should be offering suggestions and helping look for a good track manager/promoter.

EZ- The posts I copied are his words, not mine. The way I interpret it is that the managers he has hired have quit out of frustration. You are interpreting it as they weren't worth a damn to begin with. Either way both of us are speculating as we don't know for sure, but when people resign (not fired) you'd be lead to believe the former is true. Back to his words-for someone with such grandiose designs and promises he sure gave up real easy. He was vocal and hands on in the beginning (evident by his posts). Now he is the invisible man. GM quit on the 6th and still not a word about any future plans, not a word. Like I said in an earlier post, the water is under the bridge. Time to man up and come clean that you're just not that interested in the oval and stop stringing along the competitors so they can make plans for their future. Installing another GM with his hands tied and no budget to improve things will lead to more of the same. We've seen this movie before. I'm sure that anyone worth their salt will not have the least bit of interest in taking the GM job after all that has transpired. Like I said Ozzy's making money hand over fist at the dragstrip, Robert Hart's getting his handsome lease monthly and will probably gain a bunch of cars at NSS and business is business. Not that there's anything Robert Hart could do to intervene anyway, with Ozzy signing a 20 year lease (short of cancelling it and that would be foolhardy). Just be honest to the people that have supported OSW throughout all this mess and tell them you're done with the oval except for Crash-A-Rama and whatever events the track can be rented out for. He at least owes them that.
