The 10 inch grooved is the same way. LM should be on it. Like I said before and chasisdude can proove it. 16 races, 27 car avg per race. Avg tires bought PER TEAM FOR THE YEAR WAS 7 tires. At a cost of $115 a tire. $770 for the year for tires per team. THINK ABOUT IT!!!
Running the hard treaded tire is what has enabled me to run and run competitively this season. We began racing in april and last night i just put on my first new left rear tire since the beginning of the season. Put new right sides on after about 7 races and still have the original left front on. If i had to put on new tires every few weeks, I would not be able to be competitive. I just hope the car owners and drivers help out the promoters and track owners that actually listened to them and are trying to make florida racing better for all.

Cal 22. I hope no one takes offense to this. But from what I seen in the south is people hate change down there. Why I have no idea. You have a few that understand and the rest hate change. No matter how much can be saved. The 8 inch tire will bring cars back out. If a guy can race half a season before buying new sets he will. The goodyear that MMP and I believe Shady Bowl ran was a hell of a tire. It had longevity. I know guys who bought sets and hot lapped them many times before running them. You are right they break in after a few runs. But it is a change. Just like the late models down there. I had a great set of rules. It had every motor combo with weights. A 5 grand crate could be competitive with a 25 grand built. BUT it was a change. Here was an idea. Save drivers money, make it affordable to race and be competitve. Well it didn't happen. Now what do you have in South? A very very messed up late model program everyone is fighting about with very low counts. Hell a track gets 14 lm and they think its a good count. lol If people in the south stick to this hard grooved hockypuck tire racing for the mods will get better. Counts will go up. Doesn't matter about the motor when you can't get grip. There won't be anymore wrecks then what mods do now. If promoters stick to the tire by end of this year beginning of next you'll have good fields. Problem with owners and promoters now a days is they forget who really butters there bread. You have 5 thousand people in the stands tonight. And if you only got 6 to 12 cars per div running you"ll be down to 300 fans a night in a hurry. Have 400 fans and 100 or more cars in pits with 20 to 25 car fields and you'll be at 2 thousand in a hurry. Without drivers and cars you'll have no fans.

            8" Mod tires

I help Rob Cooper on his Mod. We ran at Citrus last week and Critter(track G.M.) asked us to try the 8" treaded tire. Robby was impressed with the feel and we were only about a half a second off of the slicks (with no chassis changes). If everyone is only a half a second slower and saves a bunch of cash, sounds like good ole' kuntry smarts to me. Unless your holding a watch you ain't gonna see a half a second when everyone is on the same tire.

Run those treaded tires again next week and i bet you will see your times get quicker. these tires are about .25 seconds slower until you put some laps onto them. Make a few chassis adjustments and you will be just as quick.
