The airport never built or paid for anything at the track. A grop of racers put there sweat and money in that track so theywould have a place to race.. The airport has dicked with all the promoters threw the years.
I dont know Kevin but le left more than i would have.
Ask some of the other owners and racers that built the place. Not going to name names ..

      Exactly.

I see someone getting a private runway and hanger in the near future.............right about where the track sits.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

You know what the really sad part is

There was plenty of ill will and he said she said stuff involved that so few of us have any real first hand knowledge of.Fact is the asphalt racing community has one less venue operating which may never return.Don't know Kevin, never met him.I have met his sister and his dad at the speedway and they were both very nice people, but then again they're not him.It seemed clear to me from the time that it became common knowledge what was going on with the lease situation that the airport authority did not want him there.Very possibly because of a personality conflict, but maybe for motives we may never know. But the long and short of it is,the whole ordeal puts a black eye on all racers in the eyes of the old blue hairs in local government who already look on us racing people and fans as rednecks, low lifes and trash. And if it is Kevin Williams who is in the right on this deal, that's the rest of the story the local TV news outlets probably WON'T report on.

Those are the same blue hairs that don't want power boat racing on the peace river. My 92 year old grandmother that feels that way.

The video backed up the news report. He tore the place to pieces. I'm wondering what ol Kevin is planning to do with a flagstand and a flag pole. Desoto already has both. Looks like he threw a temper tantrum when the lease wasn't renewed. I'll bet John is going to keep a close eye on this guy.

Could this be criminal considering the destruction of property ? One thing for sure, this will end up in court. Florida law and the lease agreement will be the deciding factors.

This is a perfect example of why people have a bad perception of our sport.

Tim, The real victim here is the racing community! That place is a mess! Didn't need to be like that! Wow! If I was the landlord I would be sideways and probably prosecute to full extent of the law! That could have been done in a more professional manner then that! That was not in that condition when he leased it. That looks like it was destroyed intentionally! Not good! Not good at all! As a racer I am very disappointed and heartbroke to see our local track destroyed like that. The racing community does not need that kind of help in this economy. I thought he was pro racing community. That looks like a selfish act if I can't have it nobody else will either. I have to really think on this one to see if I can even go support him a little bit at his new track after what he has said in the past about his love for the PGS and its racers ,fans, ect and now what he has done to the PGS racetrack. Double standard looks like to me! Looks to me that there is only one person that he truly cares about and that is himself! You can still take personal belongings without destroying the place. Or maybe work out a deal and sell it to someone that might be interested in taking on the new lease just like he did. There are other ways of doing it rather than destroy the place! Now you want people to drive another hour up the road and support you! What a slap in the face to the local racing community! Should have just moved on quietly!

I dont care what the lease says, or who owns what, but those pictures are very disturbing!! They should take there clean up crew they are going to have at full throttle this weekend, and go to PGS and clean that place up. That is a slap in anyones face, who has ever raced there. I agree with ssmororsports14.

looking at the video wow! did the place look like that when he moved there probly not . I know that the property that I lease out says in the lease must be left in same condtion it was in upon moving inn and anything bolted down must stay. and that"s pretty common in most lease look like a big mess.

Your 100% right on your statement and the lease there read the same has any lease when you rent. Must leave in the same condition when you move out. Kevin did not do this.

Wow, after watching the news report I have seen more of the whole story.
Yes, I still contend he can take anything that's his but trashing the place seems a bit much...

Like Sherman and the South's railroads in the civil war...

Unfortunately for him that woman politician, while they typically just look for a photo opp, seems like she could be a real pit bull!

I am sure now that he regrets his actions but it takes only a moment to make a mistake that you will regrets for years...
