  • NSS & OSW NASCAR Sanctioned

Should be some interesting fallout from that announcement. I remember the SLM racing was great at VSP when they did it. Though I also seem to remember hearing that it wasnt a track friendly program at the time.

EZ - since you are the official spokesperson for OSW what do you know?

It will be interesting to see this unfold. I really don't know what the racers can expect: more expenses? More hassle? A better show? More fans in the stands?

If your complaint about FASCAR was that it wasn't responsive enough, I suspect that NASCAR will be even more aloof and unreachable. At least with local management we knew who to complain to.

Make no mistake, I hope it works great! Both tracks had to do something, and now they have taken two big steps toward rebuilding.

Good or bad, I dont see myself going to Speedworld EZ, but a good weekly show at NSS - I will fill the seat most weekends.

I saw each one of Rogers wins that year. I liked what it did for the racing at VSP. Hoping it adds to the mix for speedweeks and throughout the year too.

NSS needed a shot in the arm, maybe this is it. I hope so. Give them credit - the Gov Cup is returning to its glory over the last few years and hopefully speedweeks is too. Up next would be the weekly program.

Not to sure, to think good or bad,it did nothing for Hollywood Speedway back in the 70's,but add a lot of extra fees to the drivers and cost more for the promotor,so it failed back then. Could be better layed out now? Hope so.

Are You Guys For Real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This should be great for both tracks. What is the down side the tracks need something. A LOT OF YOU BITCH WHEN THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING NOW THEY DO SOMETHING AND MORE BITCHING. PLEASE lets see, next year how it's going then when you see things not getting better you can let people KNOW. But HEY WHAT DO I KNOW I LOVE CRASHING CARS.

Sorta seems like NASCAR has done it's very best to shut down local short track racing, especially over the last 10 or 15 years. They've even decided to stage their own short track races at the speedway during the traditional NSS Speedweeks.
I'm guessing the only assistance NASCAR will give NSS is the permission to say they're a NASCAR sanctioned track. And they'll probably schedule a K&N race there eventually, though i'm not sure that will fill the stands either.
But as others have said, at least they're changing something instead of just keepin on keepin on with what's been done there in the past.

                      Could be good....

The big question will be if Nascar can help with soap in the bathrooms. Just kidding.....We does the sanctioning start?

Wasn't Orlando NASCAR-sanctioned when it first opened in '74?
