    I'm going to end my part in this. I hope that something was learned. I would never tell anyone not to support Rex. I hope he learned from his part in the situation. Rex had ALOT of momentum in his own late model program and if he has learned anything, he'll understand he has to fix his part somehow. Wayne Anderson is possibly the biggest "name" fan draw in the state today to advertise with. It will not help Auburndale for Wayne not to ever race there again. At the very least, it's one less competitive car.

    Most of you know, Wayne is not a fan of mine but we do have a respect for each other, regardless of our personal feelings for each other, right is right and wrong is wrong. If your going to be on the business end of racing, you cannot allow personal feelings to control your decisions at race time.

    I saw this event in the making a year ago, it just happened to be this race that it happened. I don't believe that Wayne ever stood a chance at winning, but it was never brought up until the finish. In everything that has been said by me, it's to do the little I can to help make sure that this never happens again to any racer.

    As always, if I am wrong about anything I have said I WILL appolgize. I hope Rex and his LM program can move forward, as well as the FASCAR SPEC motor program.

    I would like to add one thing as well. Rusty Cruz was put in a bad light as if he wasn't doing his job properly with the FUP series. It wasn't a great rulebook or the fact that the owners came together to form this series that made it all happen, it's the foundation they put in place to make it happen. Rusty! He is the ONLY person in the state of FL that could have pulled off this series this year. He has more knowledge of LM racing tech and procedures than anyone else in the state right now. He was given an impossible job and made it possible. Each track owner should be proud of their decision. He IS what made and kept the series together this year.

      Last time

      Eliminate the spec, crate motors and seals. Simply put a 10,000 claimer in place.

      Some racers would hate to lose the engine and others(some just as fast) would revel in the windfall dollars.

      Just get the racing back to somewhat even engines and leave the rest up to the drivers and setups.

        $10,000?? you know how many people would be banned from tracks all across the state because they wouldn't let their motor go for $10,000 (legal or not)? few people build their own LM engines and I doubt you could have one built for less than that.

          Precisely and yes you can unless you are just spending unwisely. The point is to stop the 20K up engines being built.

          5000 cranks? ++++
          other crank work?
          2000 rods?+++
          2000 Pistons? +++

          of course carbs, clutches, distributors, etc are not part of the engine. Just the long block!

          If 10 is not enough for the tracks to swallow, make it higher.

            On page 17 of the 10-26 Late Model Digest is my response on the motor issue. LMD waited until I sent them pictures of seals and letter from FUPS showing legality before they ran it.
            Now let's check out the snow ball derby nascar is closed.

                  I do not think anybody won anything much. Wayne disqualified, track will lose some business, fans lose, other racers in a turmoil = lose, spec engines now suspect = lose.

                  Who won what?

                  It is just a mess because the tracks AND racers wanted rules that would supposedly lower the costs so more could go late model.

                  Maybe a little/Lot more thought on these rules?

                  I help out a late model and know there is no spec motor in it. No problem with the rules.

                  Another point: What is actually in these spec motors that is such a secret? If it is going to be SPEC, then everything should be listed so the tracks can actually tear one down without sending it to who knows where to be torn down in secret.

                    I agree. If it is a SPEC engine, than anyone should be able to have access to the rules and parts list, and build one. Hell all engines in every class are SPEC engines because they are built (supposedly) to the Spec's to that classes engine rules!

                        • If I had an illegal clutch, I would not have pulled my engine either.

                          Just kidding Tom.

                          • Naw man they wanted the motor not the clutch,besides I had the clutch mounted right next the traction control along side of the big carb under the soaked tires and don't forget the hot fuel and the dry ice under the manifold all of which is basically useless at a-dale.Almost forgot the big spoiler and the70'' treadwidth.

                            • Tom that's fine that the spec's are there. They just won't let you run it as a spec engine anywhere.

                              Comment

                              • I can only run 362 CI, but a spec can run 374 CI? I will just pick on this one inequity.

                                Now, this has never stopped me, but I can name 5 people real quick who do not run in a class dominated by spec motors for that one simple rule.

                                C.I. = H.P.

                                Any questions.

                                If they are torn down at a local track, they should be DQ'ed.
