we need to look for alternate sources of energy.
we need to make more energy efficient vehicles.
we need to plan our traveling better. i plan my day so i use less gas.
why do we need vehicles that can go 140 MPH when the maximum speed limit it 75? make the cars so they cant go over 80.
we are blaming the wrong people. we have to take alot of responsibility for our own use of petroleum...this is really a redundant thread because people dont want to give up their luxuries...

Problem is there no immediate fix except to increase supply. These cocksuckers in office don't care, they can afford it. Meanwhile the cost of living continues to rise and the normal working mans salary can't keep up. The cost of gas going up will cause EVERYTHING to go up except jobs and pay raises.
With my business I will cut jobs and freeze pay raises before I raise prices. If we raise prices customers will go someplace else, with gas prices rising we don't have that luxury.
The affect of the us drilling for new oil and the time lag between that and its impact on the pricing of oil is so far removed it is laughable. Drilling now will not see a tangible result for many many years.
The current issues are a bunch of BS price fixing by the mid-east/us oil companies every time someone over there goes ape-shit and somehow our immediate cost of gas goes up. The cost to produce the gallon of gas that was already sitting in the tanker did not change one iota between when it was manufactured and when Qadaffi's people decided to go nuts - yet we see an overnight spike of 10-20 cents per gallon. That is BS folks. Until someone in govt steps up and tells the oil companies to go pound sand - like when Bush figured we had finally had enough at the hands of his oil buddies, we will see the same.
Actually, the answer ( at least the best one anyone's ever come up with ) to all of this already exists . It's only for sale in California at the moment i'm sorry to say . But it will be nationwide before very long . The only holdup is the re-fueling stations , though the technology is there and Shell is ready to install those stations when needed .
It's called the Honda Clarity .
There is a huge difference. Bush ended the problem in 2008 by announcing expanded drilling. The price rapidly collapsed as a result. obama makes it worse by continuing to restrict drilling and exploration.
Boney, how long will it take you to learn Bush is at fault for everything thats wrong? Obamas own words, "If im in office 8 yrs, the national debe will be at LEAST 4 times what it was under Bush. Its already almost triple! That damn bush, all his fault! We got what we diserve as a nation, we wanted change, we damn sure got it!! If ever in Edgewater on tr 1 read the sign on finishline racings building front.

So you're saying why drill? Thats what everyone said in 2000. If they had drilled then, going by what you say, there would be a differance now right? Better late than never. Why plant any seeds, its gonna take months to get any good from them!!!
Hey Bubba, I know what you're saying but who in business that buys something for $1, can sell it for $1.25 knowing it will cost $1.50 to replace?? One of the quickest ways to go Bankrupt.
No, selling something for less than you already paid for it, is probably the wrong way to go. Don't get the cart before the horse on the supply chain..Actually, you illustrated my point of it being an opportunistic move on their behalf to try to get more out of it than it really warranted in the open market. If you think oil is truly an open market - well, I guess that is your prerogative.
Now of course, if you believe these poor petroleum folks are just swaying with the market without any desire to find an opportunity to stick it to us -I guess you could do that too. If so, I have some things I would like to sell you.
With regard to whether we should drill, my comment was more to the point that people think that is an immediate solution. And that somehow Bush opened the floodgates to drilling and saved us a while back.
The fact that we are on a racing website bitchin about gas is pretty funny in itself. Now I am going to drink my Icehoue and Pabst Blue Ribbon from last nights leftovers. My contribution to the problem is CHEAP beer. By the way I drove to the corner Arab store because I was to LAZY to walk and bought my beer there. If you all think it's bad now wait a few years you ain't seen nuthin yet.

Best post yet!! Oh, I guess its more interesting than racing???
Tuna you are a DICK but you are right that was my best post yet. Back to my ICEHOUSE works good and half the price. The money I save I can drive my f 150 raptor 4 wheel drive to work on paved roads.
I remember when Obama started to be the President, and when he look at the 'what bush did to make the gas prices gone up' Obama say, he hasn`t clean up his ass since 2007-2008. I live off west coast Florida, when BP oil rig drilling blew in flame last April 2010, we couldn`t go on the beach all summer because, oil spill everywhere in the gulf. When Obama started to be a President, gas prices went down to 1.50/gal. for a week or 2. and slowing growing up to 2.00 top and holding. Now war is going on and protest, and not giving us gas to keep our prices down. My dad is a pizza delivering and he trying to conserve fuel milage and more tip. Our gas prices was this morning was 3.19, and now 3.27-3.30. Holy Shit.
