This is pathetic. You people will pick and pick and pick all day. You make an accusation - get the truth - and find something else to try and pick apart without ever acknowledging that you were wrong from the beginning.

FACTS:
Top 6 Trucks were checked and DQ'd. (actually I believe th #2 Truck refused Tech and another one would not come back to the track. Now, unless you impound the entire field for EVERY race until tech is cleared, this is just something you have to deal with from time to time.)

The 7th place Truck, who dumped the 6th place truck at the end of the race costing him the win and a shot at the championship, WAS checked and given the win.

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:
The Driver that went with Ricky to verify everything on the #29 truck was not only DQd and lost the Championship and Win because of it, but also the SAME truck that was dumped by the kid at the end of the race.

So you have an engine that is SEALED and the seals are not tampered with, and a Driver, who has no reason to give this kid a free pass, that not only verifies the seals but AGREES with the final decision.

And if I'm not mistaken, in regard to the Boyd issue, that is a Spec Motor as opposed to a Crate Motor and I believe the Rules are different (but I may be wrong) as to what process is followed once it is deemed to be tampered with.

Anyone that would be stupid enough to challenge the integrity of Ricky Brooks is a FOOL. There is a reason he is in such high-demand and probably one of the ONLY Tech Inspectors in the Country that is known, by name, throughout the Country because he is just that good.

So you see no value to this conversation? I do. When a race ends with mass DQ's and several angry competitors, someone needs to shine a little light on whatever caused an ending like this. In the past few days we've read many versions of who was and was not teched, how it went, what the tolerances were, etc.. I think that is progress. Its certainly better than blindly accepting whatever decision comes down, and leaving everyone angry and confused.

By the way, it is very naive to believe that engine seals can't be overcome, and I don't care who made them or put them on. Passing #29 with a "Visual" inspection was a mistake by Ricky Brooks.

That is some funny $hit right there....you have to go to some deep dark places to even LEARN a word like that. I thought Donny calling me an idiot was a little harsh considering I was only trying to give him some advice, but DAMN!!!

Tech men aren't voted in, they are hired employees that have a job to do. Regardless of weather they do their job well or not so well usually there is a list of pissed off people. It's those pissed off people that want to blame tech for them losing be it dq'd or they didnt tech the winner. After three weeks of being in tech you could care less who's pissed off anymore.

Best advice I can give is...BUILD YOUR CAR TO THE EXTREME END OF THE RULEBOOK, if you have a question, ASK THE TECH MAN BEFORE YOU DO IT!!! WORK ON YOUR SETUP!!!!!, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DRIVER CAPABLE OF WINNING!!!! WORK ON YOUR SETUP!!! and again WORK ON YOUR SETUP!!! Too many drivers find an excuse of why they lost. GOD forbid they actually got out ran, which usually means they got out worked and/or out drove.

Rex, racetracks dont operate in a democratic society. I know what your after but it doesnt work in this case. In racing it is the judge (not the jury) that dictates the decision. In this case it was black and white and there was no defense. The family (crew) can plead all they want to but the law is the law. The most common plea in our court system is ignorance of the law....well at FASCAR the 2011 rule books have been in print (and online) and free to anyone that wants one in the pit office since the GOV Cup. Ignorance is no excuse. The bad thing here is that no racer dq'd rebuilt their own motor...it was their engine builder...so why beat up the race track or tech? Why not focus on the engine builders or GM, ford that leave the tolerances to be massaged?

Rex, your missing one point here. This is a crate motor...it comes 9.0-9.5. The tolerance is 10.0....would you say that 10.1 is too much. These are "crate" motors that have been taken to motor builders and opened up to the tolerances. I believe .1 is too far in this case. Is it techs fault or the engine builders fault? Is the top 6 getting tossed tech harrassing the racers or the engine builders harrassing tech and tech telling them no more? Just trying to show the other side of this situation.

I was told the rule book basically says, "the race director or head tech can pretty much d'q you for anything they want at their descretion"/ Rememnber, just asking. Can any shed some light on what the six trucks were dqed for? Had Ricky checked hard the first two nights, would there be any trucks last night?

Hope that there are trucks last night and I'm pretty sure that they are really nice trucks.
