Tim was talking about Jasons motor.The rule did say the track keeps it or did when i was there (any sealed motor). In this case it was a borrowed motor there at speedweek and from what i hear they are going to make them fix it and them reseal it and thats fair for speedweeks i think. Bit beleave this, i would have made them kill it with sledge hammers at the drivers meeting and sold the rubble for scrap.Thats the only way to stop that stuff from happening. You all thank Ricky Brooks for that one.
I think he did he best that could be done there.

Racers complain all the time about wanting a level playing field... but will be the FIRST to bitch when it bites THEM in the ass.

Ricky does a good job at that... so now everyone hates him for it. I agree there are tooooooo many rules, with very small tolerences. I fail to see where a 1/4 of an inch in a door panel height, or an 1/8 of wheel offset would make the difference in a winning car or a losing one. But.... it IS in the rules, and Ricky is hired to enforce those rules.

I just think there should be at least some compromise, rather than just tossing half the field after every race he Tech's at. This pisses people off, makes them NOT want to support shows he's involved in. I'm not talking about blatant rules violations, but the nit-picky stuff. BUT, it's what the tracks and drivers ASKED him to do.... follow the letter of the book.

Just as an example: Brian Finneys car was DQ'ed after the Gov Cup race with Jeff Scofield behind the wheel for incorrect left-side weight. The thing is, these guys weigh different themselves. Just because they switched drivers during the race, does this mean they TRIED to cheat??? Hell no... it passed the Tech line in the first place. They were tossed to the back of the line, received no money, and burned up a bunch of cash for NO reason. Maybe there should be a rule that if there is a driver switch, they are required to go with a lighter driver?????

I agree with that.
The wleel or the nose hights after the race for 1/4' or 1 pound is chicken #@%$.
On the other hand buying a engine taking the seales of and changing it is cheating in the true sence of the word.
found and DQed most good racers can take it like a man.
The crate enging rule is to lose. only sealed from the factory should be alowed.
Now thet the cat is out of the bag. No one has a legal gm crate engine.
what now? Don Hillard in his day said it will come to this if we let it go.
Is there 2 different rules 1 when Ricky is there a n 1 when Butch is runing the show.
That is all the trouble i can start today.

Why the kid was not check is horse sh...t. First truck to PASS tech is the winner.He was not checked and given the win. They check the first six and not the seventh!!!He and the sissy (sister) truck were not check after qualifying, they were almost into the track on the backstrech and into the track through three at SLOW speed speeds.I mean the first lap before warm ups for qualifying! Those are the facts! I watched (qualifying)and yes I can tell one inch from four inches! If the first six trucks were wrong fine, why not check the seventh place truck. ANSWER THAT RICKY.

It was told to me that the 7th place truck in question was in fact compression checked and sealed by Ricky at Speedfest 2 weeks prior. The team had left the track Sat night and then returned when asked to. One of the dq'd drivers went with Ricky to verify the seals were in tact and the decision was made final. It was explained to and acknowlegded by all the drivers involved. Questioning Rickys integrety is a dead end road...

I'm nobody to set set your anger against. Just stating what was explained that took place. I guess what I need to ask is this, is what you are trying to say is that these 2 trucks were never teched and Ricky delibrately gave them the win? It sounds that way but maybe I just read it wrong.

What I am saying is. They were not teched after qualifying and the were not tech after the race. If the first six truck got dequed then all trucks should have gone through the same tech untill three trucks were legal.

The beginning of this thread started with tech harrassment. Now if you were teched 2 weeks prior and the tech guy passed your engine and sealed it with his own tech seals and then 2 weeks later he makes you do it again when HIS SEALS were still in tact. In my own opinion, that is where I would question weather tech is harrassing a driver...

Its plain and simple. If the first race truck, car etc.. is checked for one thing so should the others. I dont care if they are in 15th spot. How can you validate a win if these guys are not also checked. Tim and Don are rageef bathoon's!!!
