Hey Jim... How many other former winners (that weren't actually in the race this year) were there? I know Dumont Smith was going and that Robert Hamke was there with his "house" car...

Yes, I had heard Dumont was supposed to be there also among other past winners that were not racing and I was looking forward to chatting with him again but if he was I didn’t see him.

There was a Past Winners get together tentatively planned but as far as I know it didn’t come together, at least not that I was made aware of.

I did see something Saturday night that I hadn’t seen in 31 years though so that was pretty kewl.

I hope there is no Tire Soaking at Speedweeks! I was told that if they do allow it, Ricky Brooks doesn't want to be involved. Choquette also said that he won't run if Tire soaking is allowed. Choquette also stated that he "prays" Ricky Brooks will be the tech man.
