im all for great competion and passing as much as anyone else . but the same cars are going to end up up front anyhow . all the inversion does is determine how many cars get destroyed getting there . at this time of terrible car counts we shouldnt be tearing up the few we have . the goal is to get cars back . hmmmm , does NASCAR put the start and park cars up front after qualifying ? NO ! real race fans would rather see the junk get off the track so they can watch the actual race play out , instead of watching the leaders dodge a weapon in every turn . NASCAR also has a minimum speed requirement in place to get the junk out of the way . cutting costs for the racer in any way possible is the number one priority in this economy . we need to get the racers back not destroy what few we have . maybe down the road when and if the cars come back and the stands are full , something new and exciting can be implemented for bigger races if the drivers ALL agree to it . and when you only have 4 car fields and 17 people in the stands a show isnt what you should be concerned about .

You can't compare Nascar "CUP" racing to local short track racing. If you want to compare Nascar short track racing to our local short tracks, that's another issue. Cup races are 400 to 500 laps or miles. There are pit stops. Fast cars that have a problem after qualifying, but before a race, have to start in back. Fast cars have to pass slow cars, often several times a race. Oh and Nascar does put "start and park" cars up front if they qualify there. It's happened a few times this year already. Not a pole but a top ten starting position.
If you have only 4 car fields and 17 spectators, you should most certainly be concerned about the show. If the show is good, you'll have more of both. I agree that other issues have to be worked on also. But, you don't want to have a bunch of cars and full grandstand of people and put on a lousy show. That just leads to small fields and empty stands. You have to work on making it a good show to get them back and keep them.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

316 is not that slow. He has raced for a few years and I think he is leading the points. You guys that were not there make it sound like Speedworld dredged up some old demo cars to put on the front row, but that did not happen. 316 is a fairly competitive car that appears to have made a driving mistake.

Being only a fan and not a racer I wish the field would invert all the time to me there is nothing more boring than watching the fast cars start in the front. I do have a question though, What difference does it make if you have to pass the slow car for the lead or lap him? I agree with Jerry grow some and race and quit whining. If you didn't build the car to compete what do you have it for?

This is one of a few problems short track racing has here in Fla. The only people that like straight up starts are the pole setters and there fans, but most people pay to get in to a track to watch a race, not follow the leader. I have both driven and owned cars and have always been able to qualify well with my cars and always started towards the rear of the field, ran mostly 30 lap features and again with some luck and a lot of hard work, won a lot of those races, both as a driver and as a owner. I will be honest, I have cut way back at going to a lot of races because of the fastest guy at the track starting on the pole, to me that is not racing. Being a bit of a smart butt, if you are worried about scratching the paint or denting a fender maybe you should try drag racing, you start up front every time and your paint job lasts all year.............Chassisdude

This guy has every right to race. Matter of fact he is the points leader. I would also lay money that he is legal!!! Who cares where he starts. What do you think they should just give you the win???? Yea that would be good for the track. If you can't race with the Orlando boys stay your candy @$$ at New Smyrna!!!!

If you don't feel comfortable racing side by side with the guy, then don't... Better to bide your time and finish second than take your car home in a basket....

Yes he was pushing and all but that happens in a lot of racing and the guy passing has to be patient and wait for the move. Inversions do make the races more interesting and the fans thought so as well. If you guys would have started straight up, it would have not been exciting. I would certainly not laugh at anyone who wrecks their race car, and that is not what happened. We hope you will return and race again, but we will make it more exciting for the fans and that may mean inversions, Thanks

I'm confused. Are you coming back or not? How come the 316 doesnt need to start there? What about if you were to lap him and he did it? Dude just shut up and race!!! or go plant tulips!!!!
