Why Do We Invert The Field In Big Races? Good Question Huh? Well They Think It Makes For A Good Show. I Think Its Dumb! We Raced In Orlando Speedworld Friday Night, A Place That I Just Love To Race At, We Qualify 2nd Fast In The Super Stock 50. They Invert Us To The Rear And Put The Junk Up Front. Not A Good Idea At All! If Those Particular People Who Run In The Back Week To Week Want To Run Up Front, Do Your Homework!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lord Knows I Do Mine With 4 Out Of The Last 5 Wins At Nss, And To Sit 2nd Fast To A Guy That Runs There Week In And Out, Not To Bad. We Show Up To Race Competitors Not Scrap Yard Material! Unfortunately Thats What Our Car Is Now, Scrap!!! All Thanks To An Inversion. That 316 Car Isn't Even In The Same Zip Code As Us, And Does Not Deserve To Run From The Pole Position. He Destroyed My Racecar When He Shouldn't Even Been Trying To Race Me!!! The #3 Suffered A Mound Of Damage Including A Front Clip All Because Some Retard Cant Drive! I Will Be Returning To Orlando Becuase Of The History We Share At This Track, And For The Love Of The Drive!!! Although That 316 Might Not Want To Unload When We Show, Hes Got One Comin! Rob Kasye Jr #3 Kasyebuilt Super Stock I WOULD LIKE TO AD THAT WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A POINT ON THIS TOPIC TO RICK BRISTOL, WE WERE LAUGHED AT! THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT RUNNING YOUR RACE TRACK? WE WONDER WHY THE CAR COUNT IS DOWN
WE'VE MOVED!!!

Want to keep this from happening again?
Bracket Racing would keep this from happening. Maybe some track will give it a try and save a lot of car owners money from repairing their cars due to incidents such as this. And put on a better show for the fans.just wantin' ta race.....

sorry to hear that Rob , i agree invertions are retarded . why even waste everyones time , money and effort to qualify if their not going to let it stand ? better show ? sure if you enjoy seeing cars torn up ! too bad management or the fans arent paying the repair bill . it SOMETIMES works fairly well with super lates that qualify within a half a second of each other but not in a class where theres such a huge difference in speed and driver experience .

Personally, I like to go to the races to see a race and not a freight train. I hate time trials and heads up starts. It makes for a boring evening. I don't see any sense in time trials if you're just going to invert everyone anyway. It would make a better show to have heat races that determine the feature starting line up. (If you have the car count.) This year Citrus has started rolling a die to determine the number of rows inverted. If you have time trials I think there should be some sort of inversion, however, I agree it should not be a full field. If you're so much faster that you're in a different zip code, you shouldn't have a problem passing someone. If they're squirrelly, you're going to have a problem when you go to lap then anyway. Don't blame the inversion for that. If they are so slow up front that they are in everyone's way, the track has made a mistake putting them there and they have made a mistake by starting there. BTW, I have seen several inverted races this year with few cautions. I've also seen races, with no inversions, that had multiple cautions. Don't blame the inversions for that.
So called auto racing just isn't exciting like it use to be. Drivers don't want to race, they want to time trial and start up front. So many just want to buy their wins. It's no wonder that racing isn't getting new fans. It's a dying sport and racing, as some of us knew it, will soon be gone if attitudes aren't changed. Rob, I really disagree with your thinking on inverts, so more on that later. For now I also have to say that the crash that damaged your car was mind-boggling. I could not believe that the #316 crashed you so hard for no apparent reason! Did his steering break? Did he fall asleep? It really is a shame to tear up a good car like #3, but that happens in racing.
Believe me, I am not laughing at the point you are making, I'm just discussing it.
Why invert part of the field after qualifying? Obviously so the fans don't see yet ANOTHER wire to wire victory. Its bad showmanship. The fact that there were few fans there may reflect the fact that the quality of local racing tends to be so bad. If the local fans knew they would see some competitive and skilled competition they would buy more tickets. Wire to wire victories do not provide this entertainment value any more than mindless crashing does.
How many cars got inverted? The top 6 or the top 8? The problem is that the field was so small that the guy on the pole didn't have to be very fast. This was less a problem with inverts than it was with a short field.
He Shouldn't Even Been Trying To Race Me Sorry Rob, but he should have been racing you. He paid his money to race and shouldn't be expected to pull over and let faster cars go. Clearly he had no business wrecking you. He has the right to race hard, but also the responsibility to race right.
I'm just trying to speak in defense of the show, and in no way diminish the set-back to you and Jeff. I know it is expensive, difficult and time consuming to repair so much damage, and it has to be especially bitter when it looked so avoidable. Its safe to say we have all bent up a car or two, yet we have also come back to try again.
Nickle and Dime, this incident would not have been avoided by bracket racing. Anytime two cars go door to door through a corner this type of thing can happen. I bet these two cars were running no more than half a second per lap apart.
Straighten up, the best short track races are the ones where there is passing and competition. No driver is entitled to lead every lap and win easily just because they set fast time.

just me
I've always liked starting in the rear especially when the car counts are low. I want to win but I also want to RACE! It does suck when some slow turd over drives his/her car trying to keep you from passing and it ends up destroying your stuff. I feel your pain!sigpic

Darn, this is some scarry stuff, but I agree with Boney AGAIN!! Lots of tracks in the North invert the field according to driver points with new comers starting in the rear. It makes a lot better show for the fans and I believe takes even more skill on the part of the fast cars to get thru the field. There is nothing any more boring than watching the pole setter lead the whole show start to finish. I doubt anyone intentionally wrecked anyone. Screw up? Probably. In a 50 lap race the faster cars were gonna have to pass the slower cars anyhow, I believe thats racing. Do I like to see wrecks? No, I like racing. I shouldn't say it, probably get slammed, but sorry, the Super Stock division USUALLY have wrecks that were uncalled for, someone runs over someone, someone gets/gives a little pay back. I have seen dozens of times they go 3 and try 4 wide in turn 1 lap 1, everyone is gonna win the race on lap 1. After all, its a beginer division. Some have raced in the division several yrs, some this is their first yr. Racing has become so expensive lots of drivers can't afford to move up. The attitude "he sees me unload he better watch out" is sad. Just my opinion.

Sorry Rob, but this was (originally) a 50 lap race, so why race the guy so hard so early? It was plain his car was pushing like a dump truck, so just wait behind him to get out of the groove and blast right by then see if you had anything for Gould... If you don't feel comfortable racing side by side with the guy, then don't... Better to bide your time and finish second than take your car home in a basket....

I like the invert as a fan and a racer. The problem is when the new guys or the turds don't respect the faster cars. Anyone that know me knows that I would always start in the back when I wasn't up to par. If I felt my car was fast and was turning some good times I would start in my spot. If my car fell off or I was getting lapped I would get the hell out of the way and race another day. It all boils down to common sense, respect or lack of.

In response to your accusing me of laughing at you ?
When you made the statements you had a smile on you face, so If you trying to be serious then maybe you should be more clear next time. But I did laugh when you said he was a lapped car.......he was not at the time he was second. Yes he was pushing and all but that happens in a lot of racing and the guy passing has to be patient and wait for the move. Inversions do make the races more interesting and the fans thought so as well. If you guys would have started straight up, it would have not been exciting. I would certainly not laugh at anyone who wrecks their race car, and that is not what happened. We hope you will return and race again, but we will make it more exciting for the fans and that may mean inversions, ThanksRick Bristol

I can see inverting the top 5 or something like that to give the guys who have the car to run up front get a chance to, but if you got a car that is junk and has no chance to win you need to stay in the back. The guys who are running up front and have put alot of money in there car do not need someone who is driving a crappy car to wreck them and waste their or their sponsor's money.

Part of RACING, is identifying and using strategy to get past the "squirrels". If you think they should just move out of your way, you are a DRIVER, not a RACER. If you are all thart great yourself, you eventually WILL pass them... it's nobodys (including the track & its rules) job to make it easier for you to get to the front. That is up to YOU.
Grow some balls and RACE!
