Somehow, I just KNEW that Dave would come up with these. Great work Dave, and Thanks.
Doug.... I wasn't 'picking' on Buzzie, as I know he rarely ever ran Sprints. It was just an observation, as usually where you see one of them in a list, you will also find the other. Many wins in a lot of places for both, it just seemed odd that this list is 96-0 in Waynes favor...!

Not a problem whatsoever....! I like observations and history lessons. In fact, less than a year ago, I didn't know that Buzzie had EVER been in a Sprint car. I saw a picture not long ago of the traditional looking Reutimann colors on a Sprint car, and my immediate thought was that it was Wayne.... but it WAS Buzzie.
Never too old to learn new stuff, no matter how old it is..!

I also wonder about Racefan99's question regarding if this list has been updated by Bob Patten or anyone else since 2007. If would be a great resource for my research (if available). Does anyone know how to contact Bob Patten? Thanks in advance !

Interesting connection between two of the men in the Top 11 of the all-time Florida sprint car win list. They are Kenny Adams and Wayne Reutimann. Both had a son (stepson) racing in the new pavement Silver Crown cars in the 2006 USAC Silver Crown season. They are Byrn Gohn (#8 - stepson of Kenny Adams), and Wayne Reutimann, Jr. (#00 - son of Wayne Reutimann).

It's an amazing list. One amazing story on that list that really is quite a story that most never heard is Lee Scrape. He won against the All Stars at Jax Raceways 2 nights in a row. Hometown boy beating all the big dogs! He told me after the first one on Friday they went out and really whooped it up overdoing it a bit so after the second win he was so tired he had to be helped out of the car.

What's great about this list is that a lot of these guys weren't no slouches in full-fendered stock cars, including at least two Governor's Cup wins (Wayne Reutimann).
Another cool thing?
*Three* of the top ten on that list - Wayne Reutimann, Jim Childers, and Scarborough - all drove my dad's Late Models over the years - and won in it.
Here's Wayne at St. Pete with a heat win in 1980:
Here's Scarborough at the 1977 Governor's Cup (we ended up 6th in this one):
...and Childers, winning the biggest race of our career, the 1981 Coca Cola 200 at DeSoto:

Sprint cars?
I can remember seeing both Buzzie and Wayne driving URC Sprint Cars when they ran at Sat. nite Stock Car tracks. Middletown, N.Y., etal. Buzzie drove the #19 of Jim Howie of Allamuchy, N.J. and Wayne was in a yellow #20 that Brett Hearn drove later.Last edited by Jack Burroughs; 05-06-2014, 06:33 PM.
