Need Your Opinion! ¿what Would You Do?

I decided friday night lets give it a try! so we prepared the car, changed the oil, gears, tires, carb etc. OFF WE GO!!! Arrive at the track, unload and get ready to practice.. now take into consideration 5 people in the truck $25 a piece, $25 to register your number, go to register car where you would normally draw your pill to determine start position for heat, but i was INFORMED that since i did not attend there LAST RACE that i COULD NOT DRAW A PILL!! WTF!!! YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDDIN' ME! next time you advertise a race maybe you should let the average weekend warrior know that if you wernt at my last race you go to the back no if ands or buts! well after it was explained to me by rex guy the reason for this rule ((something that they started this year)) because they havent had this rule the last 3 YEARS so I decided if I had to start dead last... i might as well LOAD IT UP, and head for HOME.. and thats EXACTLY what i did. $300 later and NEVER FIRED THE CAR! Now i dont make a living racing, i race because i enjoy being somewhat competitive and the commaratitty of my fellow racers! Hello people if that is going to be your new rule, you should post it when you advertise a special race, im all for inverting, qualifyin', and whatever else makes it interesting, but DONT pentalize ME because I CHOOSE TO RACE WHEN AND WHERE I WANT!!!

What Crybaby did not tell you was that you race your way into the feature from the heat race. He was not going to automatically have to start in the back of the feature. RACE YOUR WAY IN!!!!!! Last I checked we don't practice pulling pills on thurs night!

your right last i checked on the last post dave made.. we may all want to start practicing our qualifying set-up on THURSDAY NIGHTS because it looks like thats where it might be headed! 5 out of 5 modified drivers have already voted to qualify.. and those are 5 of your class supporters. thanks for your response

I just want to make one more note... again not to bash Tony... he did what he felt was right to do...
We had three other drivers making their first OWM start last Saturday... Rick Coffin, Doc McKinney and Travis Rowland... They all started their heat races from the back... I personally don't know Rick and Travis (yet) but I 've known Doc for a long time and was happy to see him there... He was just fine with how everything was set up...
Here's another point to ponder... and again, I'm not a driver... but... If it's my first time at the track, be it first time ever or first time in some time, I think I'd rather be starting in the back anyway just to make sure both I and my equipment are up to snuff... If I blow everybodys doors off in the heat, then I get to start up front in the feature anyway and if I don't, I can draw a pill the next time and let 'em beat on my bumper!!

If it was like it was in the day when racers were racers and the races were lined up by points and the high point guys started in the rear along with new drivers to the track and it was like that everywhere you went, which it used to be, then there would never be discussions like this. No matter where you start Shut- up, Get up on the wheel, Drive the piss out of it. What even started Pill Draws instead of inverted points was rich little cry babies that didnt want to have to race to earn anything and hope the pill will help them pass most the field before they hit the track.

So did they offer you your money back Tony? NOT, what kind of track is that? Atleast give him half of it back. Be kind to them on the board so they come back but forget about the past with the monies he put out.
You track owners have to realize without the cars, you have no track!!

Yea lets qualify every race. Guys will start buying tires every race, the ones that can't will stop coming. So much for keeping cost down. Sounds like a great idea!!!!

first let me say it upsets me that all crying and calling auburndle all bad names

and as for tony carenno i have known him since he was a young boy hanging out with me and jr purcell back before he ever started racing .

and he has done a lot for ever one . he allways steps up to plate
it's gonna be hard to please ever one in open wheel class

we try to make all the races at citrus and especially home track at auburndale .but some time due to work and things breaking on car and you can't get motor parts or rear end parts you miss a race

i remember going up to draw pills one week and was told that i was not there the week before so i could not draw a pill i had to start in rear ..

well i did not like it but i did not say any thing . we started in rear and finished sixth

here is what i would like to see happen -- ever body knows start on pole you probably are gonna win and second place guy is gonna say you mirrow drove him


and this is were it's follow the leader . and some one well most ever one said time trial put fast car up front and follow the leader again

here is what i would like to see and it would be some action and i don't think it would be follow the leader

lets see who can drive any body can start on pole and win a race

when you are about ready and all open wheels are there have them all to come at same time and draw pills as a group or don't race

and what ever pill you draw that is were you start at // if guy draws four he starts fourth in heat even if he wins the heat he still starts fourth in feature

and if you draw 14th no matter were you finish the heat that is were you start the feature

now these guys you here say i don't think any body can pass me if i start on pole lets see how bad you are starting little farther back reckon you can make that car work on out side or are just gonna follow the leader

ancrdave: dave i love all these notes you keep making but dont worry about bashing me. rick coffin hes my neighbor and close friend he drove my back-up car for me last year. his father was also a great racer, "the gentle giant" who lost his life at new symrna another great racer who could come from the back to the front at "the gate". rick called me sunday morning to tell me that i did the RIGHT THING i said whys that? he replied he started 9th in heat finished 7th.. started 7th row and got STUFFED IN THE FENCE ON THE FIRST LAP!! IMAGINE THAT! and dave this wasnt my first time at A-dale.. i started there in early 08' and have tor up MANY OF CARS THERE! i won my first race at A-dale in 09' youll never guess where i started... THE POLE! enough said! good luck to your track and your racers.. let me kno the final decision in reference to qualifying.

p.s. great post mrs andrews made about upcoming race.. very detailed I LIKE IT! its a shame last weeks post wasnt just like it because we wouldnt be having this discussion at all!


HEYY TRUCKRACER:: i think your missing the boat on this one! Qualifying 2 laps on cold tires.. heat race 3-4 lap warm up.. 6-8 lap race throw in a couple of yellows .. now tell me how many laps you just put on your tires.. 15 or 20?? who said you needed new tires to qualify? the treaded tires were suppose to work better after 40 or 50 laps anyway.. but it does sound like a great idea.. so whos worried about saving on cost MY 2 LAPS or YOUR 15??
