  • Eddie Brann Memorial Race Information

This message is from the OWM racers who are working together to honor their fallen racer who died at age 43 this week of a massive heart attack, EDDIE BRANN.....
On December 19th. Citrus County Speedway thru Critter, have made this event possible to coincide with their last race of the season called the Winter Spectacular.
The race is a fundraiser to help Barbie Brann and her young daughter Alyssa, age 7. It will be a 75 lap race with a purse which will be announced soon. Each lap will sell for $100.00 and ALL of the lap money collected will go to the Branns.
This memorial race was put together by many who loved and respected Eddie. Among them are Wayne Jefferson, Lee Collins, Sean McLaughlin, Tony Careno, Robbie Cooper, Eric Rudd... the phones ring off the hook.
ANY TREADED TIRE WILL BE ALLOWED!!!!! So if you have treaded tires, you need to show up for the race of the year!
On December 18th. Citrus County Speedway will allow practice and camping. After practice drivers and friends will have a big get together at the track.
The Open Wheel Drivers wish to extend a huge thank you to Critter and the staff at Citrus County Speedway. The track was selected due to it's central location to make things easier for the Brann family.
If there is any way I can help with your questions, please feel free to call me at any time:
    Carol Wicks aka OZ

    P.S.

The top 5 will be given trophies and the winner will receive a very special trophy!

Thanks to those who put it together!!!

I talked to Tony C. yesterday. I think that Citrus is where Eddie Cars and Teams scored more WIN's than any other track in Florida. With it being centrally located that will allow more Teams to support the Event. This way the Family wins as well a the Team that takes home the 1st Annual Event. I would like to buy the 1st lap ($100.00) to get things started in the name of the CCMP Fans, Staff, and Sponsors who will miss the Professional Skill that Eddie performed to put on the SHOW!!!! We also are passing the helmet and having a moment silence in Eddie's memory at all of the next four races (9/25-26 & 10/2-3) to present to his Family. Please keep Eddie and his Family in your prays.

                    Donations from Desoto .......

I just got a call from a lady at DSS and she said that John matched a donation of $500 and the total collected at DSS is $1,000.00...I believe Bobby Yoho was the person who started the collection. A huge thank you to Bobby, the fans and drivers and to John for his generous gift...

This is the payout for the First Annual Eddie Brann Memorial Race ! A huge thank you to Critter for helping make this dream come true. Another man, Kevin Terry from Ocala who is with HTI, Inc. has stepped up to the plate paying $500 to the driver making fast time AND another $500 for the hard charger! If this doesnt whet the appetites of all Open Wheel Mod drivers then just wait because the surprises just keep coming! Stay tuned!
