No Darren, the 24 was different. Jims car was "FOUR" that was his trade mark. I raced when The 24 of Billy was racing. Jim the only thing missing in your model is you. What detail. Bob...

Darren After I posted this I looked at the pic jim posted and I now see the 24 in the background and that is undoubtedly what your were refering to. I am not sure,, but jim'll know. Bob..

          If I Remember Right

Billy Gill (24) was only behind Fenton (FOUR) at the line-up, after the first lap, they changed positions for the remainder of the race (lol).
They had the Bounty Thing going (with Gill) on for quite some time at the gate. Gill and I were watching his grandson race (somewhere) and the g/s took someone out and Gill just stood there and shook his head...I think he really wished he'd been in that race.
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

I have to say I was blessed beyond myself to be in company of some of my childhood heroes!!! I’m very humble to be able to offer something that I have a passion for to drivers that I watched when I was a kid risking their lives at the Gate, Sunshine and other tracks!!!

Jim, yours and Gordon’s responds just blew me away!!! I never in all my wildest dreams thought y’all would like your models that much!!! I will also remember Sunday forever because of y’all and your wives thankfulness!!! Thank You!!!

There are other model car builders that have the same passion as I. I have met four of them from Florida; one was there Sunday but didn’t bring any of his models, but plans to do so next time. And another builder was going to come up, but wasn’t able to come. Hopefully next year we can all make it and share our passion to our hero’s and others.

I was able to catch up with one of my dad’s race car drivers, John Gamble. It had been a long time since we saw each other and that was great catching up with him. John drove for my dad on dirt thru 1977-80. We raced all over Florida having a great time and winning some races along the way.

Very thankful and can’t wait for next year,

Darren: Yep, that is the same Bobby Gill #24 that Ricky did as a model. He just didn’t quite have all the detail finished on it yet as he did for mine & Gordon’s.

MR OSF: I’m thinkin maybe you’d better double up on that Ginkgo Biloba dosage you’re taking before your Half-Timers turns into full blown Alzheimer’s. I’m sensing some real memory deficiencies there.

Or another possibility (just friend-to-friend), I’ve heard studies have shown that if you swallow that little blue pill upside-down you might be taking for that other issue it causes a stiff neck actually reducing the blood flowing to the brain hence severely impairing the memory.

I remember the "Bounty Thing"; however I think you’ve got the cars mixed up….

Then, as far as who was behind who after the first lap…I think you have that bass-ackwards also..

Here is the original photo which you can see his name on the roof.

                      WOW MR Fenton

                      Several things here.

You sure stayed up late last night digging through those old boxes of pictures and track programs to come up with that stuff

                      OR

You are real good at cut n' paste to create such great stuff.

Either way, We/I can't take anything away from your THUNDER-OUS days of racing (even tho I remember Billy Gill's BOUNTY THING at the Gate). I always said that I didn't think Gill raced for the winnings or the trophy, I thought he raced hard so he could wrap his arms around the trophy girl for the pictures. Those were some great looking girls back in the day (came from Dixie H.S. of course).

Speaking about trophy girls, wasn't one of them at the Gate Frank or Jimmy Riddles daughter?

                        PS She was a looker!!!

Frank Riddle's daughter married Jim Alvis,Jr and Jimmy Riddle's daughter married Jim Childers. I saw your models and was very impressed. I hope at the next reunion, those of you who don't use your given names on here, will have nametags with what you use on here. I spent so much time talking to those I knew, I didn't even think about some of you having "handles" on Karnac.

Hey Kenny, I think me, you, Ron (Abney), Fenton, and Todd (McCreary) are the only ones that use our real names as our KARNAC handles

Sure wish I coulda made it to the Reunion, but I'll get a copy of the DVD.

                              Huh?

Are you $hittin me? Jimmy McKinley is your real name? I thought that was the name of a little mountain somewhere (perhaps close to Mt. McKinley).. never knew it was a real live person....

Additionally, FYI, there is good reason why "Some" of us don't use our real names (mainly because John Walsh reads these messages and he knows who's pictures are posted at the Post Office).

As a matter of fact, I think "Some" of us should consider changing our "Handles" each time we log on (just to be safe).

KENNY A. if I had made it to the big wing ding last weekend, I'd like to have run into you... can't believe it, but the last time I remember you is when you came home from "Uncle Sam's Employment" and you were just a young lad then. I bet you probably look ALMOST as bad as MR. Fenton (if that's possible).
